Firm mattress advice

Hi, I purchased the Saatva Luxury Firm queen mattress 4 years ago. I thought this would be a good fit as I have lower back problems and wanted a mattress that would provide relief. The Saatva ended up making my back issues A LOT worse, so we switched beds with our guest room. Guest mattress is a Beatyrest that I purchased over 8 years ago, and I actually prefer this mattress over the Saatva. The Saatva bed was just not firm enough and really resulted in more pain in my back. Therefore, any suggestions on where to go from here? I definitely need something more firm than the Saatva Luxury Firm and have been looking into the Plank by Brooklyn Bedding - but getting nervous this will feel like a rock. Again, I know I need to find something on the firm end of the spectrum but I also don't want the bed to feel like we are camping outside on the ground. Thank you for any thoughts/suggestions!

Hi there -- Thanks for your question. To address your questions about the Plank mattress, I would suggest taking a good look at our review video, where you can see exactly how it responds and hear a pretty detailed description of how it feels.

Also note that the Plank is a flippable mattress, and each side has a slightly different feel. Both sides are firm, but to different degrees. This is a good feature for people who know they need something pretty firm but are perhaps unsure of just how firm.

For context, the Saatva Luxury Firm is a Medium-FIrm on our softness scale (a 4, with 9 being the softest). The two sides of the Plank are ~2.5-3 on the softer side and 1.5-2 on the firmer side.
