it bowls out from the butt area. It sags and you can clearly see the impression. The only stop normal is between my wife and I. I'm asking for another Macy's rep to come out and review it. If they measure less then 3 inches it doesn't qualify for an exchange. last time it measure about 2.3 inches. Imagine. So when I sleep in it sags another 3 + inches. It's unbearable.
The iComfort Savant Ever feel Plush felt good in the store and initially once delivered. But as nights passed the gel foam began to feel just like gel foam. Warm and gooey, rather than soft & airy. I flopped around all night and felt warm to hot at times. I'm debating whether to put a topper on it or take it back. Love the pillow tops but hate the lumps and depressions. Not many good choices in big stores, wished I would have looked at latex or hybrids more. This memory foams and memory gels from the big makers is thin & poor quality. Look elsewhere.
I bought the Serta Silverdale mattress and box springs from Sam's club on 5/26/15. It is now 7/23 and, two defective mattresses and 1 defective box spring later, I still have no resolution on this poor quality set. First one came with holes in both mattress and foundation, missing staples in dust cover of springs and dirty finger prints from "white glove delivery". Those were picked up and replaced weeks later with a mattress having a" tumor" on top. That's the only way I can describe the it. Extra fabric appeared to be gathered and stitched over the fill underneath creating a lump---not conducive to a good night's sleep. I don't know how it passed quality control. When the replacement to that one hadn't arrived weeks after the reorder, I called today to find out the problem. It hadn't even been reordered. I decided to get a refund and return everything, but the customer rep had already requested another mattress to be sent and promptly disconnected me. When I called right back they said I would have to wait until the defective set had been picked up, then accept the replacement and request it to be picked up as well. I had to go through a supervisor get it back to a straight pick up and credit for my $641 purchase. I'll never order another mattress online again.....and I'll never purchase another Serta.
The mattress did hold up good for the first couple of months but as the 3rd month started we started feeling that the mattress was not coming back to its normal height after we would get out of the bed. Called rooms to go and they sent a technician who noted that the mattress did sink but it was less than an inch which was normal with memory foam mattress. But it kept sinking further over the next couple of months and then within 6 months of use it sank more than 2 inches. We are going to replace it with a new mattress. Very bad experience.
I purchased my mattress at JCPenney. It is less than 5 months old. It has a hump in the middle of the mattress. With this hump in the middle it causes you to roll and sleep on the edge of the mattress. JCPENNEY does not want to help with this issue.

my mattress 1800$ just for the mattress in 3 years has significantly sagged i paid them 35$ to come out and see it the guy in front of me measured a sag of 7 inches deep into the bed and 4 inches high. when they came out he took some photos and noted some light stains that were not anywhere near the sag. I now get a letter that says the sag was measured at 1/4 inch (what a joke) and because of the light stains they have voided a 25 year warranty (do they really think people do not get stains over 25 years of usage). I told them up front it had a few light stains and asked if I would get turned away they assured me that I should pay the money to have it inspected why would I throw 35 dollars away for no reason this was significant sag and manufacture defect. in there letter they proclaim they have a very low return rate du to factory defects thats because they do not stand behind there products. please save yourself some money and do not buy into there sales pitches you will not be happy if you have any defects you will be stuck with a mattress worth nothing

we purchased this bed from the store in july 2014. when we tried this in the showroom, we were over the moon. after a few years with an innerspring that just wasn't doing it, this was absolutely wonderful. what arrived at our door was a totally different story. it was like a rock the first few months. and we wrote it off to the 'break in period' as we had been advised of. maybe the showroom ones had been laid on a lot. okay fine. fine if you can get past the discomfort and the off-gassing that took almost 3 months to dissipate and caused me endless upper-respitory infections and my eyes to be glued shut, then yeah, fine. after about 3 months, the smell went away, and the bed finally seemed comfortable, so we stuck with it. fast forward to this february, suddenly we both start getting severe lower back pain. my husband wakes up everyday and his legs are tired and swollen. my hips are locking up and extremely painful to the point i have trouble standing from a seated position. maybe we've been at the gym too much..working long hours...NOPE. rolled over last night and felt my hip hit the bed frame. in less than a year the foam has completely broken down to nothing. i sincerely was starting to think the pain was in my head. neither of us has had restful sleep in months and i've never been more sorry we decided to get a new bed.It's a flimsy piece of garbage. The stupid thing isn't even fully a king size. It comes up short in all direction requiring you to buy special sheets from serta to fit it properly. i would give this no stars if we could. from my understanding, serta is very difficult with their returns, thankfully we did add the the retailer protection plan, we thought, NOPE. They just came to do their inspection and were told that they most likely will not replace it because it's not showing a dip, and because so many people are trying to return them, serta is trying to crack down and deny everyone. so now we're left stuck shelling out for another brand new mattress less than a year later

I have had sciatic problems. I went to the beach last weekend. After sleeping on a different mattress for two nights, I definitely noticed a difference. This mattress helps support the improvement I am getting from massage, yoga, over the counter pain meds, strength training and stretching exercises.I also fall asleep faster.
This bed felt good when we tried it in the store. Had it less than 4 mo. and it is already showing impressions where we lay. My husband and I are small people, this should not be happening. The store is sending out another mattress. I have 2 other family members that have also purchased mattress from Rooms to Go, they are also small people. one is on her 4th replacement and the other is on her 3rd and they are all different brands of mattress. What is going on with these mattresses? I am not happy with this, the store does not want to return your money and you have to try to replace the mattress, something needs to be done to help the customers!!

This mattress was great for about 6 months. After that, it started to go downhill. I have had the mattress for 3 years, and it has body indentions. The thing is getting more and more miserable. I will have to buy a new mattress soon. A mattress that sells for over a grand should last much longer than this!
when i went looking for new bed that would stop my hip pain and my shoulder pain-numbness in my arm and fingers, i thought i found the right bed or so i was lead to believe it would be. it isn't. i am a few days short of the 30 days return policy so going today to see about returning it and trying something else.
We paid a fortune for this mattress and almost immediately it began to get huge divots on both sides of the mattress. I could barely dig myself out of the hole to get out of bed. It was so unbearable I flipped the mattress over (it is not flippable!) and am sleeping on the hard side that has no cushioning whatsoever, and you know what? It's more comfortable that way!!! Terrible product, we are moving and leaving this mattress behind.
Do not get into buying any trump mattress, first week was good after I was in pain sleeping on this mattress. Wen two people sleep on this we tend to slip towards the middle. Awful collection. I went through so much stress, I wasn't told if I change my mind I hav to pay $50.00 for delivery for 2nd selection.
I have only had this bed one night and it made a mountain where I sleep I slept maybe 6 hours and got up come back to bed went to go wipe the sheets with my hand and notice a lump pulled the sheets back and their was a huge lump going from the middle of the bed over to the top corner of the bed I had to pull the lump out by going to the other bottom corner of the bed on the other side and pull made the lump go away but I shouldn't have to do that not for no 700 dollar bed called the store and she told me that the foam underneath my pillow top is not sewed to the other piece of the bed so of course it's gonna do that from all the tossing and turning I got 10 days to return it and I will be hopefully this weekend
This is the 2nd Indigo Bay we had had in the past 4 months. Both developed long (several feet) lumps within the first week of use. If they are all defective I believe they should be pulled from the market. This mattress is hurting my back!

Worst mattress I ever owned . Wife refuses to sleep on it. Should come with restrains .to prevent injuries from rolling of sides of bed. Lost shape or form.
The way it sags in the middle is horrible, when my husband crawls into bed I feel like I get swallowed into a big hole. The outside edge is still firm, I have to crawl up to the edge and sleep along the edge. Not a comfortable position. It was very deep mattress and hard to get upstairs, so had to go through a window. Do not recommend this bed unless you sleep alone.

Have had this bed for 7 years. Getting a new bed tomorrow, couldn't stand sleeping in the "bed taco" anymore. This thing has such a bad sag and though it is still within the ten year warranty, I just want it gone. I can't even sleep on my side because this mattress makes my hips so sore.
Puts pressure on hips and shoulder.i wake up sore and lower back also sore.i hate it.
Really thought a super oillow top would be more plush and comfortable. This bed is really hard, even though it had foam in the too. I toss and turn and cannot get comfortable. It's not any better than the 13 year old mattress it replaced as far as comgort. If you want a very firm bed, this is it!!

We purchased this mattress three months ago & can stand it no longer! My husbands back is killing him, it is extremely hot, and it is already sagging after only three months! WE explained my husbands back problems to the salesman and he assured us this mattress is what he needed. He can't turn over in it and wakes up every morning with back pain.
The bed had developed impressions for both my wife and I. We are not heavy, low bmi. Past year back has been bad and now we have figured it is the bed. The bed is bad and it should have lasted 10 years we got about a year from it. No chance of a warranty because the smart people at Serta knew that their measurements of over 1.5" sag is from material top - The material top floats on tension and would never sag like the underlying surface. Serta Verano - horrible.
Had it 8 months and wish I would have kept my old 15 year old Beautyrest. Sleeps about the same without the huge price
I wish someone would make a cover that would allow the body heat to escape! I have tried many many mattress pads and cotton coverings with only slight relief.
My wife has back problems, and we've gone through five mattresses in the last twenty years trying to find one that is comfortable and stays comfortable (pillow top mattresses nest out in only a year or two). This mattress is the first one that we both love, and it's as comfortable today as the day we got it. Love It!
Used this mattress little over a year. I notice a difference between the side I always sleep on, versus the side I don't, and now have been trying to switch sides because the less used side is more comfortable now.
This bed is as good as it was the first night. Ive had it over a year and a 1/2.

The bed is soft, but over a couple of months I can really feel the indents where I sleep. Moving over a couple of inches makes for a very unpleasant sleep. I wouldn't buy another goal mates again. I would go with a coil mattress with a pillow soft top.

I went back to the store to talk to the salesman about switching out the bed (in a wheelchair) and was made to feel like I was bothering the salesman and told it would go against his record and made to feel bad.I am a 72 year old woman with spinal stenosis on a limited income. I was told there was this wonderful guarantee , at the time of purchase, where if it wasn't comfortable, I could switch it out for another mattress. The salesman made me feel terrible. I came home, and put a memory foam topper on my new mattress and until today, that is the only way I can sleep on it. The support was not good for my back due to my back problem. I explained that to the salesperson when I purchased the mattress. I will never buy anything at that store again.

My husband and I are heavy, the middle of the mattress feels sunk in. I roll towards my husband when sleeping. The mattress does not hold it's form for long in the middle. I wake up with back aches.

This mattress was a prize from Fox 2 and Gardner White. We were in the market for a new mattress so I tried for about a year and finally won. With all the choices out there, this mattress suited our needs perfectly. We were very pleased with the entire experience, next day free delivery and they removed our old mattress set.

If you have a queen or king size Perfect Sleeper, we suggest checking your bed frame to make sure you have proper center support which can impact the mattress. Mattress was extremely comfortable when we first purchased it. Within a few months, mattress began to lose its "magic." Feels much firmer than it did upon initial purchase. CANNOT BE FLIPPED!! If you and your "sleepmate" are different weights, the non-flippability factor becomes an issue over time. No warranty because we purchased from the Clearance Center----if we had a warranty, we would have returned this mattress. If you want a cushy, plush, Hotel-like mattress, this is NOT the best choice. Love a great bargain, but will probably not shop the Clearance Center for mattresses again----unless they add a warranty.

You may want to consider a plush memory foam mattress topper to add some softness to the sleep surface if that is the type of feel you prefer. At first it was fine, but over time it seems to degrade in quality. Obviously, it's not worth the $800 I spent on it. Could have gotten something a lot nicer for cheaper. Sadly disappointing.

The mattress is much softer and gushy. It also is too hot. Tried using a mattress cover but even after removing it the mattress gets too hot.
Love this bed, now married and would like to have it in a King. Not feeling motion of my husband has been awesome, we just need a bigger bed. I now have this in my guest bedroom. It does get a little warm from the topper, but it is great in the winter. Living in the North, it is fine.
Starts out ok, firm, but then I Can't stay on my back. Guess it's Too firm even though I feel my buttocks imprint into the mattress. End up on front side but have hip soreness. Just not happy with the overall perfomance. 6 month return policy was good but I was out of town for extended periods then realized when was too late. Originally did NOT want to return TOO quickly. That makes no sense to me, but I should have. Live and learn. Will probably buy another mattress when time is right.
The spots where my wife and I sleep have sagged and after a few hours each night your sunk too far to move. As a result the center has a hump. We have tried to have it replaced but the retailer is telling us it's not "bad enough" for warranty replacement.....I think if we are complaining it's no good that means it's "bad enough". Each morning we complain how much longer do we have to wait for a replacement. The warranty is 10 years and the comfort was gone after 6 months.....listen to your customers Gardner White and Serta.

We don't like this mattress at all anymore. It feels different than when we tried it in the store, and over the year we have had it, I now wake with a sore back and sore hips, while my husbands side maintains his contour and has started to form a pit in the shape of his body. I will be revisiting the warranty on this mattress in hopes of taking it back.

I'm pregnant with my 3rd child and this bed gives me just the right amount of support at night to keep those aching joints from becoming what they were with my first two children on our old mattress. I used to wake up very stiff, and in a lot of pain. The mattress holds in all the right places, so that doesn't happen.

I've noticed I need less sleep after switching to this mattress. I've recommended it to family members and friends. The iComfort pillows take a while to get accustomed to but they're great, too.
We returned an I Comfort mattress as it was too soft. Gardner White's mattress warranty allowed us to return the mattress for another at no extra charge. We explained to the salesman hat we needed a firm mattress. The salesman appeared upset the we returning the I Comfort mattress. We explained to the salesman that we wanted a fir to hard mattress. The salesman claimed the I Series mattress was one of a few firm to hard mattress in the department. My husband and I tested out the mattress in the store and felt we still wanted a more firm to hard mattress. We were not shown any other mattress for a firm to hard fill. Today, our mattress has soft spots and permanent dips as soon as laid upon. I am more disappointed that Gardner White did not do a follow up call after a few months to rate my satisfaction. In less than a year I paid off my $5000.00 finance bill for our adjustable frames and mattresses:( We like the adjustable, but unfortunately will be mattress shopping soon.
If purchasing for 2 people to use, make sure the firmness sill be agreeable to both.

I have the I-comfort bed and love it! It is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Its hard to go away and sleep on something else
After waking up sore for several weeks we decided it was time for a new bed. We were not sure what we were looking for but certainly were not looking for this type of mattress... Until we laid on it in the store... We were sold! Several years later we are still happy with our purchase. We have no sagging, no uneven areas, nothing that we had typically come to expect in a mattress. It feels as comfortable today as it did the day it came home. Still not waking up sore... Yay!
The wheels on the center of the bed frame are broken and therefore the bed slides all over the place by morning.
Initial iComfort was perfect in the store, too hard when new one delivered. Second bed was just right in the store, too soft after 2 weeks of use. Had to go thru MAJOR corporate grief to get an exchange allowed for the 3rd mattress, and add more money to the deal. Being totally leery of the foam style mattresses, due to their unpredictable break-in changes, we went to a standard coil spring model, which defeated the whole pupose of buying a mattress for medical issues in the first place. Pillows were not the ones we picked out, had to settle for a different model. Felt that after spending $4500 when we started with a $1000 bed and a free small LCD TV that we should have been eligible to exchange that for a larger TV. All in all, it was the worst retail experience of my life.

The mattress lost its comfort after 3 weeks and memory foam developed amnesia and died from Alzheimer's. Don't waste your money or time on it unless you like the struggle to get warranty service thru call centres in India or wherever they are.

near the edges of the bed feel like your in a deep hole an can't get out. Also, when I try to move over toward the other side it's haft because it feels like there is a peak in the middle of the bed. I am very unsatisfied.

We bought a tempurpedic first. . And it was defective...The customer service was horrible to say the least. ..I decided to check into other brands and came across the Aim super pillow top..It has a two in one mattress. A cooling foam gel pillow top with dual coils for support. .. It is comfortable from the first time you lay on it... Every time...I am so glad Serta came up with thishybird.. and I am truly happy we own this one. ... Thanks Serta for a fabulous mattress. .I sleep well now.
I bought this mattress in January of 2013. It is sagging a lot on the side of the bed that I sleep and it makes it very hard to get comfortable.

This mattress is so hard to turn over in or get out of. The memory foam is sunk in right where we sleep, you have to sit up and then turn over, because you are in a hole.
My husband and I just bought the iSeries Vantage Plush and had it delivered yesterday. The first night of sleeping in it was GREAT! Both of us slept really well, and neither of us disturbed the other when we got up, which is a very welcome change from our last bed. Both of us are avid researchers before purchasing about anything, and it as hard for us to settle on this model because there is so little out there for reviews and information about how others viewed the bed. For the price, we are pleased, but are nervous about the seemingly common complaints about dents forming early in the bed. We love the product so far, but the complaints concern us. Hopefully it continues to be a great bed, and we don't have to worry about the issue coming up that have been mentioned by some other customers!
After only a few months, it started to sag. Had the inspectors come out for a warrantly claim, but they denied it since there was not a 1.5 inch sag when nothing was on it. Trust me though, when trying to sleep it was very uncomfortable. Just got rid of it after suffering for five years, even though there was a ten-year warranty.
This was far more expensive than a traditional mattress, even with a Serta iComfort sale rebate price in addition to a SAMS club discount. Despite a discount club price and sale, it was delivered by the Serta "white glove" service upstairs to a 3d floor bedroom with removal of the old mattress, box spring and frame. It was fine at first. Maybe a bit too warm but the modern memory foam provided great support and weight distribution , whether lying flat on back or on one's side. But after 3 months it formed what the literature called "comfort impressions." This means body depressions that don't go away--ever. My wife and I both liked the mattress at first but then it quickly formed depressions that reminded us of a +10 yr old traditional mattress at the end of its service life. You got into bed and rolled down into a hole with none of the advertised support--and it was just 3 months old. The original effective and pleasant weight distribution was gone. It wasn't comfortable. We gave ours away to a young couple who needed a king size bed to be able to have room for their dogs and got a new but old style mattress. We'll never buy another one of these foam things. We got an old tech mattress and box springs and love it, even after 6 months. The marketing of these foam things sounded good, and felt Ok for the first 90 days, then turned into junk. I strongly recommend you find an old style mattress manufacturer, with pillow top on both sides. You will be far more satisfied then this hi-tech foam piece of junk with high dollar marketing.
I was expecting some resiliency in the springs with some comfort from the top padding but the springs are weak in the middle and the bed is already developing a "rut" in the middle. Very disappointed in this mattress and we'll be looking for a new one.
We absolutely loved this king - sized mattress for 5 years but it started sagging - it would take extra effort to roll out of the indentations in the morning as we both woke up with aching backs. We could also feel the difference when one of us would sleep in the middle that was not worn down. We paid the required $35 for inspection & were told it wasn't bad enough to qualify for any compensation in the supposed 25 year warranty. We will never buy another Serta product.
Felt ok the first week. Hips started to hurt the second week Back and shoulder hurt the third week. After four weeks it started to eat. Not comfortable.
This is the 2nd Serta Mattress we have purchased, The first was a pillowtop that lasted only 6 years (started having problems after the 3rd year) took us time to save up for the next mattress. The 2nd Serta Mattress was icomfort insight purchased in 2011. We both liked the mattresss the first year. The second year we noticed that backaches started to return, kept turning it to no avail, turned the foundation also, no relief there either. Now we can hardly move in the morning because of backaches from sleeping on this bed. This is the second serta mattress purchased at American Mattress and will never purchase another Serta product or never purchase from American Mattress again. I visited American Mattresss this morning and talked to their rep, he sad they can send out an inspector to inspect for $120.00, I think NOT. The warranty is still in effect for this mattress but without shelling out another $120.00 to have an inspection they wont do anything for us. NEVER, NEVER NEVER AGAIN purchase Serta.
We've had our mattress for less than one year initially it was nice , no odors , felt comfortable ,not too warm... At this point again not even a year old the mattress is very mushy , two large holes were my husband and I lay. We have to rock to get out of bed. We both have arm , shoulder , and hip pain. (5.3 145- 6.2 215) We both wake up in the middle of the night or early mornings and get out of bed! We no longer hold each other in bed because that too seems to just fall in. We have been sleeping on twin mattresses in our guestroom on and off for the last month. We have company coming in two days and will be forced to go back into our room and sleep on our mattress, we are not looking forward to that. We had an inspector come out. Just yesterday we found out that they are not going to do anything about our mattress only offer a 20% discount on a new one. we paid $4500 (not including the tax) for this mattress again it's not even a year old. We have never paid that kind of money for a mattress before. Sure wish we hadn't done it this time ! we paid the bed off in just a couple of months and felt so good about that. Now what? Very sad and so disappointed.
Within a week of recieving this bed, the pillowtop started bunching up so that there was a raised ridge running down the center of the bed horizontally. Called Macy's and they sent me a new bed. The new bed came already bunched up at the very top! But the delivery guys said this was a result of moving the bed and that it would flatten out in a day or two. Extremely doubtful, but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and wait. After another week, the new bed is now bunched up in the same spot as the first, even worst than the first. The only upside to this whole mess has been macys customer service, they are refunding the mattress and picking it up free of charge. There is obviously something very wrong with this model, my old pillowtop bed is over 20 years old and never became bunched up or uneven.
I have had this mattress for little over one year. It sinks and sags. when you wake up in morning feels like you have been run over by a truck. horrible.

We purchased this mattress after trying a few other mattress and in hindsight we should have gone with a traditional box spring mattress. This bed felt so comfortable in the store and my daughter also had an ISerta that she loves. However the mattress we received did not feel like the model in the store which was softer and more plush. I cannot sit up on the Accumen as it causes back and hip pain and I cannot lie down as I literally sink into it and cannot move. I only weigh 140 pounds. Needless to say after paying the ridiculous price of $2,400 I am sleeping on a cheap $500.00 mattress in my guest room. Will never ever purchase a bed from a mattress store again as too difficult to exchange.

I purchased the Vera wang serta with the think pillow top in August of 2007. It sat unused for a year and the 1st night my ex and I slept in it I thought it was amazing. Then we got up. There was a whole body indentation in the bed where he slept. He's not a big guy. Within 2 months of me sleeping in it I had to alternate which side I slept on as it was already sagging. Since then I've maybe slept in the bed 3 night a week, opting instead to sleep in the guest room on an inexpensive and more comfortable mattress. After 2 years I tried calling the store I bought it at but they were out of business. The sagging is beyond painful. I have to get up multiple times a night to stretch out the kinks in my back. I will never purchase a serta ever again. I would love for someone to inspect it but I've never been able to get assistance. I understand products fail, but customer service shouldn't.

We purchased the mattress, box spring, and frame all from Serta and after 3 months noticed significant body impressions with a huge hump in the middle. Called and emailed Serta and received no response. We have been trying to work with the retailer to initiate a warranty claim, but it has taken much too long and in the end we are going to have to pay for shipping to get the exact same model mattress as a replacement. No thanks! You can suck it Serta, I will never buy another one of your products again.

I had this mattress set for less that two weeks and it started sagging. By week four it had sagged by two and a half inches. I was really hoping this mattress set would be great for me. It has been a nightmare. I had to spend another $500 plus tax to upgrade and that was just for another mattress. I hope I can depend on the new mattress to fulfill my needs. Next time I will buy a Sterns & Foster.
Within six months the bed started to breakdown. I turned it so I could see, and, yes, it failed again. Now I have a mountain in the middle of my bed...in just a year of spending $2,500.00. Worst mistake I ever made. Worst investment. I have had 2 back surgeries and NEEDED a good bed. Boy was I wrong. And Serta is doing nothing about it. So I am writing everywhere I can and going to see an attorney. Do not buy this bed. It might feel good on the day you buy it but it fails in time.
Initially, this bed was very comfortable to sleep in. However, it didn't take too long before valleys were created where each person sleeps. You literally have to roll up a 3-4 inch hill to kiss your partner at night. I would not recommend this mattress unless your plan is to keep it for a year, and then buy a new one.

I have extreme arthritis of the shoulders,back, hip and knees. I also have Neuropathy my symptoms include loss of “true feelings” and strange sensations in my feet, legs, lower arms and hands. After owning this product for a number of years, I had to take pain pills daily due to the constant pain in neck, back, head, and jaw (yes jaw!). I wake up repeatedly to numbness in the shoulder and arms. There are no support at all. Try to buy memory foam topper and new pillows to adjust the comfort and minimize pain but I realize that it doesn't replace support. I got fed up so I tossed the mattress and bought a different brand and finally I have no pain upon waking up. I forgot to mention this mattress sags over time and motion transfer is problematic. I'm so glad to be rid of it!
I bought this mattress for my daughter. This is the most amazing mattress EVER! Everyone wants her bed. I want this mattress SO bad for myself but can't find it:-(. If anyone comes across one don't even hesitate; BUY IT!
We bought this mattress thinking in my back health. At the beginning it was a good option because all the organic, innerspring system and so on. But as the years pass by the mattress is deforming like a hammock. We are thin, 120 & 160 so there's no way we over weight it! The mattress looks like new because we even bought the stain guard protector, it has really good look, the cotton is really nice at the touch, it's a shame it doesn't work as they advertise.

this mattress lacks support and has a continous body impression. had it inspected by the retailer we purchased it from, says the body impressions are normal....they never go away so how could that be normal? I have contacted Serta and to no avail. It doesn't seem important that a customer is unhappy with the product after just barely a year of usage. Looks like I am stuck with a mattress that does not give me a good night's sleep. We replaced a defective Simmons with a defective Serta, now how sad is that? come on Serta stand behind your product. Retailers don't want to take care of your problems. The retailer sent out an inspector that got down on all fours and barked at my little Bichon.....now let's be serious. No more Sertas for me.

I am exceedingly disappointed in this mattress purchase and the reply from the retailer and Serta. We purchased a full king set (box spring, mattress, etc) at the Brick March 2013. We started to notice body impressions within a month or two. we now have two body impressions with a mound in the middle. We contacted the Brick, completed the paperwork and they sent a technician to measure the impressions. He did not show us the results. he said the Brick would call. After two weeks I sent a request for news on the report. I was later contacted by phone by someone in the bedding department. Apparently the indentations were just slight under the 1 and 5/8 required by Serta to consider the issue a problem. Come on, mattress is only 9 months old, there shouldn't be problem. Brick does not stand by the product even though they were the retailer to sell it to us with all the positives concerning its construction etc. They say, take it up with Serta. The Brick will send someone to re-measure our mattress and you better believe my husband will lie on it and then watch the measurement being taken.

We switched out our queen tempurpedic for a king genius, omg, this this the best purchase we have ever made. It did seem firmer than in the show room, but i can never have too firm. it is truly the best purchase you can invest in. I am a lady of "that age" and i am cool at night, i do not feel my husband move in bed, unlike my tempurpedic. There is no smell coming from the mattress as i see other ppl mention. Side support is good, some may not be too concerned about a box spring, but i love it, the finish is really nice with contrasting fabric, To sum up, i feel totally rested in the morning, my aggravated discs feel good, our dogs love it and sleep all night as we do, without wakening. Don't hesitate purchasing this mattress..
This bed has a combination of comfort and support, a plush pillow top with a firm matress underneath. It seems to be a very durable bed also.
I was looking for a bed with pressure relief and that slept "cool". This "hybrid" seemed like the perfect solution since I understand that memory foam sleeps hot, even though "they" have been trying to remedy that complaint. Since I haven't slept on a 100% memory foam mattress, I can't evaluate if this is an improvement, but the special cool gel memory foam appears to be wholly ineffective. My old innerspring mattress was much much cooler. I'm afraid that come summer I will roast. Also, to my complete surprise, this bed stunk when removed from the wrapping and still does after 6 weeks even though I have tried most of the tricks recommended by various sources. I emailed Serta and their response, that it was the plastic the bed came wrapped in, was a total denial of the considerable evidence that memory foam in particular does smell and needs to "off-gas." The retailer said to put a box of baking soda under the bed and it would be okay in a few days. Ha. The retailer has ignored both of my email on the subject. Finally, I suspect that the bed will become very saggy in the middle after not too long time. I suppose if it's bad enough, the warranty may kick in soon.
I would suggest instead buying a bag of concrete to pour on your bedroom floor; the concrete will be significantly softer than this "Plush" mattress. I have never really liked Sears, but will NEVER shop there again after this purchase and subsequent headaches (both literally and figuratively). I was told I cannot return or exchange this mattress so it will now be thrown in a dumpster. I can't even donate the mattress, because it is so uncomfortable would feel guilty giving it to someone. This is my second Serta mattress (exchanged the first one after 30 days and a horrible backache) and it will be my last. Turns out I only THOUGHT the first one was bad until I slept on the second one, at least I only wasted 1000.00 on this one.
I spent way too much on this bed and I am now stuck! This bed is very hard, like sleeping on a board. The foam does not give at all. I sweat all night long due to the heat that is generated from this foam. It is horrible. Since I bought this bed I have had to start wearing Icy Hot patches all night long just to stop the pain in my back and neck. Believe me there is nothing medically wrong with my body. It is horrible. I use pillows to buffer myself from the mattress and bed and now am considering spending 400.00 on a gel mattress topper. UGH. This really stinks. Of course, I am stuck with this mattress. I have even taken to sleeping on the floor and couch due to there being no give at all in this "foam".
Very comfy but after 4 weeks our k size has indentations on my side and husbands. You can see it after I make the bed. Also has a lump down the middle. Im not sure what it will look like after a few more months. Traded in an icomfort celebration after 30 days for this one. It was hard as a rock. Wouldnt buy certa again, but they wouldnt give a cash refund or we would have run!

I initially bought this with the 9 inch box spring but it was way too high, so I worked with Serta and Sams Club to change it to a 5 inch boxspring. Both reps were helpful and I was abl to accomplish the exchange in about ten days at no charge. The mattress is firm but not hard. I like the gel foam which gives substantial support and is not too mushy. The bed is about a 3.5 on a scale of 1-10(soft). I live in Florida and haven't found that the gel foam produces any heat at all. Serta gives a 120 day warranty for this hybrid model , so you can change it if you don't like it.
We purchased this new mattress/box spring set as our old King foam set from Sears was 30 years old. The Sears set was perfect and the only reason we purchased the new set was because the old set was well, 30 years old.
This new Oracle set is now 1 year old and has severe sagging on both sides, such that we feel we are sleeping in "valleys". When rolling over it feels like you are trying to climb a hill. In fact, my wife has given up on it and sleeps in the other room now.

Had called a serta consultant after I did everything the mattress sales person told me to do about the uncomfortable heat temperature problem. The answer was to have the air in the room on 68 degrees and not to use my high thread count sheets. What? I bought the bed because of its claim to keep you at a comfortable temperature. It does not. I was told by the mattress sales person that you really need a waterproof mattress pad because the warranty would not cover the mattress if it got wet. So what I bought was a mattress that you really can't put anything on top to stop air flow otherwise it.will be hot! What about a body Serta, will that make it hot? Disappointed that this wasn't disclosed at the time of purchase. I would never have thought of buying it.
This bed has made me miserable. I dread going to sleep at night. I cannot get comfortable. I wake up with back pain throughout the night. It is so uncomfortable I had to get a memory foam pad to place over it. I was waking up with numb, painful heels when I rolled onto my back. Sad thing is, the memory foam hasnt helped much. This bed is definitely not cooler. In fact, its very hot. I wake up hot and in pain constantly. Unfortunately, i am unable to returnit until I have had it for 30 days. I would not recommend this mattress to anyone.
I have always slept on a firm mattress, but this one is extremely uncomfortable because it is so hard. I ordered it online, based on reviews in Consumer Reports, because I live in a rural area and don't have any stores close by. I did not test it in person before purchase, which was a huge mistake. But I've really never slept on anything this uncomfortable, so it's shocking and depressing. The restock and return shipping fees mean I have to find a way to make this work. Maybe a mattress topper?
Sink hole that will not reconform. Had the bed 1 year and back and hips never felt worse. Would not recommend this or buy another. Very disappointed at Serta and Trump's response...nothing from either. Don't waste your money.
I had a 2004 Perfect Sleeper, decided I wanted a foam mattress, so bought a Vera Wang Perfect Sleeper that salesperson said was a foam mattress. After a few months, I noticed I had a "HOLE" where I was sleeping, I tossed and turned so much that my husband moved to the other room. I then slept on HIS side, and then developed a HOLE there, moved to middle but felt a hard ridge all the way down, called dealer, she said it was too late to return it and suggested I put PLYWOOD on bottom under the box springs! I tried this, and it did not work. Called the dealer, they said don't lie on it for 10 hours, then measure to see how much it sags...I told her almost 2 inches...she said the warranty won't replace it unless it is 4 or more. I then put the plywood under mattress, it did not help, I sleep across the top where pillows go for a couple nights, then across the bottom for a couple nights, then on one side and then the other, sometimes I lie across the bed...I am so disappointed in this bed. I want a new bed, and I want my husband back in my bed! Guess I should measure again and try again, the bed looks great, always covered by a cover...but beauty is only skin deep!
This was a high end bed with an organic covering and euro top. Loved it for the first 3-4 months, then the body impressions began - we are not large or heavy people! The response I got was to measure the impressions and at that time they were NOT "deep enough" to qualify. I saw the flaw in the warranty right then. Should a 3-4 month old mattress have ANY body impressions at all? So now, one year later the store tells me there were some bad pours and they've replaced several hybrids ( part natural part synthetic Latex) . I am in the process of the warranty claim again, and this time it will definitely qualify! They are prorated and they only credit you for the mattress, not the box springs, so don't count on having a matched set - how ghetto is that? And of course if it had qualified in the first few months the credit would be much larger.... Does anyone know of any mattress that would reverse that impression situation.... I had to wait until it deteriorated enough!! Not impressed with their warranty! Now I am told they no longer make the pure radiance series......maybe I am better off buying a cheap one and planning on replacing every few years. Will see what they end up doing for us.
Got it, it was much harder then the store model, too hard. I woke up in the morning, with massive pressure point point pain, and loss of blood. BUT my back was just awesome on it, PERFECT. I had to return it as my hip and shoulders where hurting, but my spine was the best it had ever been. Since then with the new mattress that replaced this one, my pressure points are all fine, BUT I do have back/spine pain.
After 6 months the bed sank in the middle 2 " Serta came and measured it so we get a new bed They didn't give me the credit on the full amount to replace it so we had to pay the difference .for the same mattress.
We've had this bed for almost 2 weeks now and I ache more with each morning. I'm considering swapping it for the insight model but worry that won't be the right choice either. The genius is extremely firm, feels like sleeping on concrete. I weigh 120lbs and I feel this bed gives me no support. I wake every morning with back aches. I'm very stiff when I wake up. My husband and I love this bed. I would highly recommend purchasing the adjustable base if you are going to invest in a memory foam or other expensive mattress it truly makes all the difference in the world. I tried every mattress in the store including more expensive ones and what really relieves the pressure points is the ability to change the position especially elevating the legs just slightly., the zero gravity option is amazing. I prefer an extremely soft bed as I am a former waterbed sleeper. The air beds are just too hard and traditional beds just don't help. I have not ad any problem with off gassing or smell of any kind. The bed is not hot at all. If I were to do anything I might upgrade to the next softest iComfort. . As of now I am perfectly happy. I woke up in tears from pain in my hips and back from a traditional mattress. This is no longer a problem with the iComfort. Again the adjustable base is very important., This bed is much more comfortable than even the most expensive temper mattress mainly due to the adjustable base. If you can't afford the base I really don't see the point of spending so much on any mattress. Also just for more detail. We have the split king... Hubby weighs 160 and I weigh 120. I think this matters for the level of firmness/softness needed . I have a fractured L3 and osteoporosis so I need to elevate my legs and my husband can't sleep without elevating the head of the bed. The adjustability and split king really cater to both of us.
We decided to try this mattress out after sleeping on a tempurpedic for the last 5 years - bad move! My husband doesn't mind it, but it is way too soft for me. At first it feels like the Tempur Cloud Luxe bed, and I was hoping it would support my back after the initial sinking in feeling like the Cloud Luxe, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I haven't had a sore back when I woke up for 5 years, and the last few nights sleeping on this bed I have had a sore back every morning. It does stink when it first comes, but so did the tempurpedic, and I think the smell was probably better with the iComfort, but it does go away in a day or 2. Bottom line: this is going back and we will be getting our Tempurpedic back so I can wake up without back pain again!
We bought the iComfort Insight because of the claims that it will sleep cooler than other memory foam mattresses. It was fine during the fall and winter when we bought it, but as soon as summer came. We found that it slept much warmer than are conventional mattress did. As far as the comfort is concern. The first week I thought it was the greatest mattress that I had ever slept on. Then I started to notice that I would be slowing sinking deeper into the mattress during the night. This sinking into the mattress made it a lot harder to roll over and to get out of the bed. This mattress might be OK if you weigh 100lbs or less and like it warm in the summer, but to anyone else, I can not recommend buying it.
This mattress broke down in less then 6 months, it's all my wife and I can do to get out of it in the mornings.
Had the mattress technical people come out to look at it. They laid a 1 inch square wooden block on the mattress
to measure the Depression and took a picture. I laid a bowling bowl on it and told them to take a picture.
They said their procedure was the wooden block that weighed less than an ounce.

When I purchased the bed I was in heaven now I am sinking into hell.I bought the mattress in April of 2012, now a little over a year later I can't find a firm spot on the bed . I sometimes sleep crossways in the bed seeking support . Complained to store I purchased from and they ran a string hooked to a couple plumb bobs across the the bed and said not enough sag to warranty . I spent over two thousand dollars for a bed that in a year is like sleeping in quick sand and I am stuck with it . Tom in Iowa

We take product quality and customer satisfaction very seriously and follow what's lined out in out warranty.Our iComfort models do have different levels of firmness which range from very firm to very soft. While it is normal to have slight impressions within memory foam, it may be possible that the model chosen was a softer mattress.
The foam elements shifted resulting in very poor support on the edges. As a result the mattress tends to constantly try to roll you out of bed.

We bought the new Revolution Icomfort by Serta from Mattress Firm January 2012 on the recommendation of the salesman (Joseph Sabino). He told us that after the break-in period that we would find the mattress would contour to our body and give us the support we're looking for. In the beginning the mattress was firm and as it broke in became very comfortable - at first. The mattress continued to breakdown, sag to the point that I now sleep in a hole.
My back hurts terrible when in the mornings. Considering that I had back surgery and need support, I am extremely disappointed in the quality of the material. I have not had a good night's sleep in months and being that I am warm nature and though salesman told us the material in the mattress was design for folks like me, not true. I find myself sleeping on top of the sheets as I am burning up.
I definitely cannot recommend this mattress for folks like me that require support and cool environment for quality sleep.
Not to mention the manufacturer's warranty does not do justice for internal sagging. As the mattress returns to form but, it does not hold its' form. Tells me the manufacturer uses substandard materials to not stand behind their quality.
Most assuredly is frustrating to have spent $1,700 for a mattress that 17 months later we need to replace.
Would not purchase another mattress from Serta. If sales people at Mattress Firm are aware of this issue and do not advise their clients, shame on them and should be boycotted.
We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your mattress, especially since we have so many customers who enjoy it. We can assure you that we take customer satisfaction very seriously. You may find that an innerspring mattress would better fit your comfort needs. It is normal to have small impressions within the mattress to a certain point. This would be considered normal wear and would need to sag pass the threshold laid out in the warranty to be considered for replacement.
This bed does not support, and I only weigh 130. It's not like I weigh that much excuse the sagging in this bed. It settles in so low after only a year. I was only 28 when I found out about the scoliosis and was told that it could be caused by a sagging bed. Think braces. They set your teeth. So it makes sense that if your back is positioned crooked for 8 hours while sleeping it could cause a crooked back.
Worsened back and neck problems for my husband and I after getting this bed.
Unable to warranty it because it's not sagging 1.5 inches when were not on it. That's a ridiculous warranty term. Don't buy Serta!
We thank you for your comments and assure you that we take product quality very seriously. We are sorry to hear about scoliosis, however sleeping positions do not cause this medical condition. There are general mattress recommendations for scoliosis as sleeping positions can cause discomfort. Regarding the sagging, anything under the 1.5 inch threshold for your mattress would be considered normal wearing.
Both sides of this mattress have sunk in. It feels like I am sleeping in a ditch with a high barrier between the wife and I.

I hate this mattress. I like a firm mattress; we got the firmest one available. Felt great at the store. The salesman didn't explain anything about a "break-in" period, whereas, after a while the mattress gets softer and softer. While you sleep, the mattress will compress forming a deep trench tour body lies in. If you want to roll over, you have to wake up enough to lift yourself out of the trench &/or flop over. This trench eventually "bottoms-out" against the foundation; negating the form fitting effect. Unless you weigh 90 lbs like the model in the other brand's ads, you will experience the same thing. Additionally, if you sleep on your side, your mid-section & thighs (which are heavier than your lower legs,) will form a "v" trench in the foam. This puts negative pressure on the lateral and medial ligaments in your knees. Care has to be taken not to move in such a way as to hurt them while you sleep.If I hadn't spent so much on this, I would have replaced it by now. OBTW, the return period for the mattress was just under the length of the manufacturer recommended break-in period...Still waiting for a really great nights sleep. P/S, my back hurts worse with this than with the one it replaced.
I purchased a Serta, iComfort Genius, King Mattress and foundation on November 20, 2012. After four months the foam is soft, saggy and offers no support. Mattress Firm sells this bed as a firm bed which it was for a few months. I filed and paid $25.00 for an inspection,a man came out and put a string across the middle of the bed and found a 1/2"sag. I told him it was a foam bed and I had been out of the bed for 7 hours. I asked him to push on the part of the bed I sleep on and feel how soft the foam had become. He said no. I only measure the sag. I explained that they were missing the point. You can feel the difference in the foam. It gives like an old hotel bed and offers no support. I then called Mattress Firm and explained that the foam recovers after you get out of it but the foam is no longer supportive and sags when you get on it (I weigh 200 lbs.). The service rep told me comfort is not a warranty issue. He told me to Call Serta and I did. Then Serta said they do not handle warranty issues unless there was no store involved, and I needed to contact Mattress Firm.
DO NOT buy a Serta iComfort Genius because it loses its support in a very short time. DO NOT buy from Mattress Firm because they will not deal with the problem.
The mattress looked and felt very nice when I purchased it. Only a few years later and it sags more than an inch. I've been attempting to get Serta to honor their warranty for four months now. Two Serta inspections and numerous calls and emails later and I'm still stuck with this garbage mattress. I'm a 6 foot male weighing 168 lbs. The inspector will mark a little baby powder dust as a stain, so make sure your mattress is completely spotless prior to an inspection! Still, I'm certain they will find a way to ignore their warranty. Has anyone here had their warranty honored? Ignore any "Serta attempting to save face" response below, since I've already emailed Serta numerous time to no avail.
Has a synthetic odour. I see lots of people complaining. They are also likely don't leave the house without a helmet on. Otherwise incredibly comfortable for this very picky sleeper.
I hope I don't eat my words but that was the best night of sleep I have had in quite some time. My wife and I have been married for 20 years - our old mattress was 16 years old and a high-end expensive one when we bought it.
We both slept all the way through the night, never even getting up for a drink of water or anything. We tried to remember when that has EVER happened and we couldn't think of another time. My wife said "Did I snore?" I said "How would I know!!!?!??!"

Make no mistake this bed is quite firm at first. There is a reason Serta wants you to sleep in it for at least 30 days prior to return. However, if you have back pain and are looking for support and comfort look no further! I've had back pain for yrs and after only a few weeks in this bed it is GONE! I think the gel does work to stay cooler as i live in the PNW with no ac and have no problem. The bed will take a couple of weeks to get used to but after that you should be in love with the bed...and best part is if your not just return it before 120 days. And a 25 yr warranty, that's great! Bottom line is if you have back pain and are looking for a great bed with great support that is amazing to sleep in give this bed a try. If you don't have back pain and are looking for a plush super soft bed this may not be a good fit. Hope this help.
This bed does have soft places even after one year. If you need any firm support this bed is not for you. I weigh 130lbs and my husband weighs 200, It is very obvious if you get on his side of the bed that there is a softer feel even in one year. Have called the store but was told warrenty only recognizes a measurable indentation as a defect,anotherwards, you must be able to look at it and see an indentation not feel it! We are now getting ready to get rid of it. Both of our backs hurt in am.2600.00 down the toilet!
We hate to hear that you are unhappy with the Insight, especially since we have so many people who love it. We do offer the 120 trial to help customers get a feel for the bed and whther or not that specific model will be a good fit for them.
I bought this be some months ago and It is great! The people at Americas Mattress were very friendly and knew what they were talking about. They made everything as easy as possible. I have no complaints!
I had a bad feeling when this bed was delivered and it was hard like a rock. I was told it was hard because it was cold in the delivery truck and the memory foam takes a few hours to soften once at room temperature. 9 weeks later, the bed was not much softer than when I purchased it. I woke up with backaches many times during the first few weeks because the mattress was hard and did not conform to my body shape, so there was a gap under my lower back. The one good thing about this mattress was that I did feel some temperature difference related to the cooling technology, but that was not enough to keep me comfortable, so I returned this bed.
I will never purchase any mattress again that has memory foam no matter the hype of "cool gel technology"...it just doesn't work!
I need to get up 1-2x a night to let it cool off before I can get back to sleep on it again. My room temp is between 55-60 degrees & I'm still throwing the sheets off.
I'm hoping Serta still makes a bed without this new technology?
We do sell mattresses without memory foam, but we do also want to make sure that you have sheets and a mattress protector made of breathable materials where you can get the full benefits of the Cool Action material.
This mattress was purchased after i had been struggling with years of back pain. i purchased the memory foam version of this and started noticing a difference with in the first 3 months. i feel like i am sleeping on a cloud! it also for some reason stopped me from rolling around so much in the middle of the night. after i had surgery and i was instructed to stay in bed for days i knew this was by far the best mattress i have ever had. in the past i couldnt stay in bed for more then a few hours but with the memory foam vera wang mattresss i found i could stay there all day and all night and not feel sore. ive had the best sleeps on this . BEST MATTRESS EVER! best sleeps, hugs my body perfectly, very comfortable. i have owned this mattreess for three years and no problems
We have had this mattress for 24 months. We have severe body impressions that are now causing us of have restless nights and back pain in the morning. Serta has denied our claim since the body impressions aren't greater than 1 3/4" in depth. My husband is in the military with a very demanding job and needs his rest at night. We should not be looking to purchase new mattresses so soon. Trump should not stand behind this poorly made product.
the mattress began sinking at the 2 month point after purchase when the retailer was contacted a large pile of paperwork was given to us which needed to be completed. they took several months to review the complaint and then could not bother to show up at any of the times which were arranged to review the mattress. finally they arrived took a look and said there was nothing wrong. My wife and I made our big just got Married purchase on bedroom set and this icomfort mattress. First 6 months were great! Soon developed a soft sink hole here we usually sleep. Rotating mattress helps for a week or so. We were totally suckered into buying this mattress! And to think, it was made 1 hour from where we live!
My wife used to sweat like crazy in the beginning. Winter saves her. I had the issue only a few times.
Problem is the poor quality of comfort in the icomfort. Warranty covers sagging to the naked eye. Well ours looks fine, but if you put an apple where we sleep it would probably disappear. Shame on you Serta! This mattress is borderline criminal. 85% of your icomfort owners experience the same things but you stand by your product and offer no type of condolence to your buyers. I'm 27 and have lower back pains because I'm practically sleeping in beach chair position. Have our first child on our way, can't go drop 2 grand on another bed. You managed to screw us this time, but never again and so help me , either will anybody 6 degrees from me.

Our purchase of the iComfort Prodigy was a result of an exchange of a totally unacceptable innerspring mattress, exercising our "one-time comfort guarantee". Our salesperson assured us that, to approach the feel and comfort level of our old mattress, we should seriously consider a memory foam product.
The concept of memory foam or any foam mattress was originally a negative concept to us due to the reported "hot sleeping" factor. We were introduced to the IComfort line by our salesperson who described the addition of gel to the memory foam to reduce the feeling of overheating while maintaining the reported positive features and support of memory foam. We advised our salesperson that a firm mattress was a absolute because of our sleeping preferences. Our mattress at home was a 19 year old Simmons "Beautyrest Silk" purchased new, rotated and flipped regularly.but was beginning to show signs of breaking down. We seemingly laid on every"firm" mattress in the store so many times that, after awhile, shopping became a blur. With the assistance of our salesperson, we left to consider the Prodigy, described to us as a "medium firm" mattress, one level softer than the Genius (which later we discovered was in error).The Prodigy was selected because we sleep in a cold room and felt the other model under consideration, the Genius, would be too hard in our cool environment based on the feel of the mattresses in the showroom.. We returned a couple of days later to make the purchase of the Prodigy, expecting some changes when the mattress was "broken in".
What we didn't expect was the was the extent of changes that would occur over time. The mattress sleeps hot, offers no support unless totally on the edge, remembers exactly where the body was, is, has been in the past, and, without a doubt, will be for the duration of the mattresses life. Rotation of the mattress is the only option for changing the feel and action of the mattress, but this is only very temporary.
The sensation of sinking in sand is probably the best choice of words to describe our nightly experience. We are unsupported, overheated and unable to move freely in bed, waking with sore backs and an ever increasing sense that we wasted $2000.00. As we write this review, we are awaiting delivery of another new mattress, from another manufacturer, counting down to the last night we will spend in this hammock, and remembering how good our old mattress still felt compared to what we can seemingly purchase now.

The "Off Gassing" from the mattress is not tolerable by a person with sinus/allergy problems and sensitivities to strong odors including perfumes. I picked this iComfort mattress because the other foam mattresses were smelling really bad in the show room and I did Not notice any smell from the iComfort in the showroom.
I think this problem needs addressed so people can figure out how to get rid of the odor fast before using the bed.
The salesperson was great through our whole experience and the delivery was fast and excellent. I love the whole bed but am trying to figure out how to get the odor to go away. I can't find information on the internet or the manual about getting the odor out. I recommend this mattress for comfort but it needs aired out before sleeping on it.
Threee years ago I bought what I thought would be the best mattress for my back wrong. Two and on half years later the center of tghe matress caved in and when you stand it on its side to turn it all the insides fall to one side, turn it the other way the the same this happens. I contacted Serta they said that the mattress was definately "defective" and we don't make those any more because we have had so many problems, but can't help me because I can't find my original receipt. I know I will be searching thru all boxes for that receipt. Because this single mother of three has to have a decent bed to sleep on so I don't wake up in pain. I have to work. But if I don't find that receipt Serta will be leaving me out in the cold.
As long as I live, I will NEVER buy another Serta mattress. A 105 lb. girl slept on this mattress for less than a year and it began sagging but not quite at the 1 1/2 inch mark to keep us from filing a claim. Shame on you Serta.

They love to sell this product by saying it has a 120 day guarantee! Dont buy into that! I purchased one on 12/27/2012. Slept in it for a week and was in tears every morning when I woke because my back hurt so bad. Contacted Conn's to let them know I hated it and could not walk, and wanted to return it! They told me that I had to wait 31 days and could only exchange it for another mattress. Thing is they do not have another mattress that I can sleep in there. So I am really screwed. Have a very expensive mattress that I cannot even sleep in!! Contacted Serta and they responded to get with Conn's - WOW!
We love our new king sized Genius. We both have back and joint issues. So far we have not experienced the mattress heating up, unpleasant odors, sinking in of the mattress, or anything else negative. We are both 'plus sized' people and my husband is always warm. The salesman did tell us that the storage of the mattresses can cause the odors and sinking in of mattresses. He said it depends on whether or not the are stored laying flat or standing upright will determine if there is off gassing. Warehouse handling can affect whether or not it will sink in in spots too, he said. All I know is that we LOVE our Genius. Lest I forget, he threw in two free scrunch pillows! They are WONDERFUL!! We both snore, but much less since using these fantastic pillows. The only reason we both know this is because he got up to let the dog out and had to check to see if I was ok...wasn't snoring loudly! He used to wake himself up snoring...Sleeps through the night with no neck or back pain and minimal snoring. Best purchase we have made in 20 yrs of marriage!
My wife was tired of this mattress after 6 months when it started sagging), and I thought it just needed more break in time. Suffered through it but now the sagging is about 3" on each side. Time for another mattress. Going to Prana.

and it seemed fine at first. But within a few months I noticed back and neck aches and kept waking all night. I went away on vacation and slept amazing and then realized it was my sagging mattress.
I called for the warranty but no one will return my call.

Got this bed because it had a 25 year warranty and was comfortable at the store. After a few months back started hurting as the mattress contours to you and stays creating an uncomfortable sunkin hole you sleep in. So angry for the price I paid. I now have severe back pain and spine is un alined. Ive never had any injuries or back issues so its from the bed. Now I have to go to physical therapy twice a week. This bed has seriously ruined my life. I use to be active but now can barely get up in mornings. Spent $3800 to sleep on my couch! No one from serta has called be back even with my receipt and warranty. DO NOT buy this bed !

Picked this mattress up a month ago and absolutely love it. It starts out pretty firm like i was told from the store assistant manager but after a couple weeks its becomes perfect. Great bed for a great price
I am so dissapointed in my $2,000 iComfort bed and even more dissapointed in the level of customer service from Serta. I am playing by Serta's warranty rules yet after numerous calls and visits to the store where we purchased it, and two calls to Serta, my husband's side is still an uneven and sloped surface that keeps him awake at night and makes his back hurt during the day. I'm on the verge of donating it to whoever will pick it ip and buying a traditional mattress, all in the name of a good night's sleep. It goes to show that you don't always get what you pay for. Please be aware that what you experience when laying down on a store's sample mattress is not necessarily what will be delivered to your bedroom.
I bought the iseries from Macy's in July. I was converting a queen size frame to a California king, so I had to measure the mattress. Cal. King is supposed to be 72x84. This measured 70x82. When they replaced it, again it was 70x82. When I contacted Serta, they told me it was impossible. They have quality control.
Macy's replaced it again with no problem. Again wrong size. Sertas customer service was very rude. I spoke to several different people and they were all rude. To make a long story short, I have had 4 mattresses delivered- all we're 2 inches too short and 2 inches short on the width. I like the bed,but now I need to decide what to do.
After only two months, our King Serta Bellagio pillow top has two sag areas where we sleep, and now it is noticeably raised in the middle! We are a normal weight/slim couple and it's hard to get into the middle because we slope back down to the sagged areas!

I have had this mattress for about six months now. My first attempt a writing a review did not work, so I'll try again, and hopefully save someone from making the same mistake I did.
First off, standard North American King Size beds are 76 x 80 inches. At the BASE, this mattress is close, but about 3 inches from the top, it angles in. So, the sleeping area, on top, where you actually sleep, measures more like 72 x 76 inches. Being 6'4", I have the first king size bed in my life, and my feet still hang off the end! Borderline fraud in my book. Funny the bed in the show room did not have that.
This type of bed is called memory foam for a reason. It remembers exactly where you slept the night before, and keeps the indentation for you. Turning the bed works for one night, and one night only. Otherwise, once you get in, be prepared to stay in that exact same spot, exact same position, all night, every night. I can only relate trying to turn over in this thing as trying to roll up a sand dune. I actually pulled a leg muscle trying to roll over one night.
Intimate relations with my wife are worse than the waterbeds of the '70's. At least then you had wave motion going for you. I'll leave that at that.
In life, there are some things you want to be hot. Showers, coffee, hot tubs. Not your mattress. One of the selling points of this thing was the extra gel that kept it cool, comfortable. Not so. In the winter, this may be an advantage, turning the heat off when it's 20 below zero and staying toasty warm. The other 9 to 10 months of the year, not so good.
I have to admit, I usually don't get taken this bad. I did this time. Trusted what I thought was a first rate company to produce a first rate product. $3000 and I sleep on the couch.
And yes I contacted the store I bought it from. "You slept in it, it's yours".

I''m not sre if I'm still getting used to this mattress, my first night was good, and from then its slowly getting worse. I definately have THIS mattress, and it has the cooling gel, but after laying in it for a few hours I start to get really hot and find I'm tossing and turning to keep cool. my partner says that he is experiencing the same and we're really shocked after paying so much for a cooling mattress when we explained that we suffer from the heat. its definately hotter than out old spring mattress, and I keep wondeirng if we're doing something wrong, but we're just sleeping on the thing lol. I love the support and feel very well rested when I manage to sleep, and if I could stay in the same position I think I would get a wonderful nights sleep, but I just get too hot and have to move which is driving my partner mad. In the shop they explained that they've only had one complaint and that is of the mattress being too cold!!!! I wish that was my complaint. well, here goes night 4 and I'm dreading it. I spent all my savings and have been waiting for a new mattress for ages, I just feel a bit let down.

If 2 firm at 1st, get on bed once per day & roll from pillow end to foot end. I still believe in turning mattresses (not flip, but turn). Hoping this bed will last at least 15 years. Love the firmness.
We took time and chose our set carefully for the right comfort level and this mattress started out quite firm but within weeks it lost its ability to return to shape, we now have a visible big high spot in the middle of the bed and sink down 6 inches on either side when we sleep. We both have spent more on chiropractors than for the bed and been in misery due to this and the fact you are sunk so low you cannot turn or get out of bed. I would think at the cost it would take longer than months to lose its shape. We bought this because of the 25 yr warranty but find we got no help and nothing done to correct our problem. Somehow I managed to lose my receipt so don't do that or you are out of luck, they will not help you in any way. If I could I would drag it down there and set fire to it on their doorstep.
If you like throwing away $3,000 - this is your bed. Feels like you're sleeping on cotton balls after 3 months. Foam breaks down. You'll be sleeping in a hole.. Want to roll over you have to climb up hill first. Like waking up at 2am drenched in sweat. You will love this "cool" foam mattress". 10 year warranty. Ha Ha Ha Ha.

My wife and I purchased a Vera Wang mattress for $2500 in April of 2011. It was less than 6
months before it started sagging pretty badly. We rotated the mattress as we were told to in
their instructions, and it was still that bad. We contacted The Bedding Company in Omaha
Nebraska to file a claim. When Robert (the owner of the store) came out to inspect the
mattress he said that a stain on the mattress invalidates our warranty. He also yelled
and screamed at me every time I talked to him. He had me so worked up that by the time
I called Serta to talk to them about it, they were upset about my attitude. I guess they
don't like to be yelled at either. The guy from Serta claims that they care if a customer
is upset, but still insisted on hiding behind the warranty.
We were never given a copy of the warranty. There was a piece of paper that said that the
receipt and the tag on the mattress were our warranty. The only thing that refers us to any
sort of warranty is a small code on the corner of the tag that says W9. That's it. There's
no label that says warranty code or anything. There's certainly nothing that warned us to
seek out a copy of the official warranty. The Serta guy said 'some' stores don't give you a
copy because it's available online. Then shouldn't it say that on the receipt?!
As far as I'm concerned, they lied and cheated their way to our money. I've seen numerous
posts about this bed being bad in about the same amount of time. It seems that they never
'want' to honor their warranties. I read on a message board that they will look for a tiny
little drool stain in order to not have to fix it. We'll never buy anything more than a
standard mattress, and will make sure it has a cover on it immediately.
Shame on you Serta, and shame on The Bedding Company in Omaha, Nebraska!
After sleeping in the same, cheap spring mattress for 5 years, we really enjoy the icomfort. The first night it was different. Since the mattress is new, it felt hard. But today will mark the 4th night sleeping on it and I must say I slept like a baby last night. The same goes for the pillows. They were very hard on the first night, but they are definitely softer now. My husband and I were having back pains from the spring mattress and neither of us has had back pain in the past few days. Mind you, we just bought a house and have been painting for the past week. Unfortunately, there are many mixed reviews about this mattress but from our experience so far we like it. It might be a different experience for you.
They say that the people that write reviews are those that either love or hate the product. Well, we are the ones that love it. I weigh 185 and my girlfriend is about 115. We have only had it for two months but we both rave about it. Although it may have become slightly softer over the two months, the change is hardly noticeable. It also started a bit stiffer than the one in the store but now is pretty close to what was there. However, we are glad we purchased the stiffer prodigy. Lower back problems have improved a bit but I didn't expect it to cure everything. The foam smell lasted just a couple days (as opposed to two weeks with the old foam topper).
Overall, well worth the money. We were even happy with the salesman at Metro mattress that gave us a beautiful Amish frame for a good price. The price in the stores is fixed by Serta, but they can give you a deal on the extras.
I bought this bed at the end of June and it is now October 11, 2012 and there are two definate inpressions where we sleep. The memory foam has done lost it's memory. For the money we paid for this high end matress it should have lasted 3 or 4 years before it started doing that. But if it is this bad now just think how bad it will be then. I'll be sleeping on springs in a hole the size of texas. Will never buy another Serta matress again. Oh sure it is covered under warranty but I have to go through the store to have it taken care of. That should come from the Company instead of making the store do all of the warranty work.

I almost went with the Serta I Comfort but decided to try this first since it had a similar cooling system. I'm so disappointed on how HOT it sleeps because other than that I love the comfort. I find myself all over the bed looking for a cool spot. This morning I found myself sideways across the bed.
I hate to do it, but I'm going to have to see if they stand by their guarantee of 120 trial period and if not completely satisfied you can return it.
This mattress has made me move it to the guest bedroom. My husband whose weight is about 180lbs and I my weight is 140lbs and after 18months the middle of the mattress has terrible lumps which had us waking up throughout the night in pain. We contacted Jeff Lynch where we paid over $1200 for this mattress, simply because Serta was suppose to be the best of the best, to get a replacement. They came out to our home to look at the mattress and measure the sag. We were told that we should hear something within 7-10 business days, well they called back about a week and a half later informing us that Serta said the sagging had to be over an inch and a half...the sag measures a little over one inch...this makes no sense, so we are stuck with a useless mattress that they manufactured and will NOT stand behind!!! I will never buy another Serta and I will discourage any and everyone I know to never buy a Serta.

This is our 5th bed that we have purchased and we had always heard about Tempurpedic mattresses being the best and most comfortable. The salesman was very educated with the details of mattresses and sold us on the new iComfort offering from Serta mainly because of the reduced smell and heat factor with these types of mattresses. Testing the two brands in the showroom felt no different. So we decided to go with the iComfort.
My wife was 9 months pregnant when we bought the mattress and she was hoping it was going to help with her sleep and sore back. For the first few months, sleeping on the mattress was great. I play soccer, and with previous mattresses, the day after a game or practice, I would really notice I would be quite sore with different aches and pains. The iComfort bed solved this problem and I felt great. My wife reported feeling indifferent.
Several months passed and I began to notice that the bed wasn't providing as much resistance. I felt as though I was sleeping in a valley of the bed. The middle of the bed felt like a hill and felt more resistant. By this time, my wife had given birth but she still couldn't tell whether the bed was doing anything better for her. It was getting more difficult to get out of the bed because of being sunk in more. I felt that the aches and pains that disappeared when we first started sleeping on the bed, had returned.
We are now at a year with this bed. With previous mattresses, we never used to wake up with sore backs, however, sleeping on this iComfort bed over time, we now are waking up with sore backs on a DAILY basis!! My wife has complained saying that she gets up sore and notices the sinking feeling on her side as well. We have contacted the store and they were supposed to inform a 3rd party to contact me and come out to test the mattress....I haven't received a call yet and it's been a week. I'll need to follow up with them. I'm not sure what Serta can do, but we are definitely unhappy with what this mattress has done to our bodies. It is supposed to provide resistance and support while we sleep. Judging by how we feel in the morning, the iComfort isn't doing its job!
Don't get me wrong, it feels like its comfortable initially and I can get to sleep, but the fact that we're now waking up with sore backs that we never had with previous mattresses is unacceptable. Beware! - Initially its good, but over time it becomes less resistant and like other reviews, it feels like you're sleeping in a sink hole.
We're so sorry to hear about your experience. I'm not sure which model you've selected, but it sounds like you may need a model that's a bit firmer than what you currently have. If you're getting that constant sinking feeling, it may be that the bed is too soft for your needs. 10/17/12 update: I'm so sorry it's taken me this long to post an update. Yes, my mattress was found to be defective & the one split king box spring on my husband's side was also defective (purchased at the same time as the mattress). Boscov's was great to deal with... my husband and I are getting a replacement tomorrow (10/18/12)! We'll finally be sleeping in the same bed again. Although the mattress was found to be defective, I do think the Prodigy is way to soft for my body. I laid on it in the store again and it felt very similar to my defective mattress. Since I was fearful that I would have still have back/ hip/ knee problems, Boscov's let us pick any mattress we wanted (had to pay the price difference of course). We chose to get two twin XL instead of a king mattress in case we ran into similar problems in the future. It would be much easier to change out one twin XL instead of a whole king mattress again. This also gave us the flexibility to purchase different firmnesses. My husband chose the Serta iComfort Prodigy again because he really liked the plush feel of the Prodigy. I opted for a much firmer (more supportive) mattress, the Simmons Comfor-Pedic St. Simons. In the store, my hips/ butt sank into it about a 1/4 of the depth as the Prodigy. The St. Simons feels much more supportive than the Prodigy and I think that's what my body needs to alleviate my lower back/ hip pain. I did try the less plush iComfort mattresses (and really do love the way they feel) but I felt I still sank too far into them. I'm only 5'1" and 120 lbs so a bigger percentage of my body was "in the mattress" than someone larger. For instance, the top of the mattress landed higher up my husband's leg and lower on my leg (closer to my knee) when both of us were sleeping on our sides (which is probably why I was feeling knee pain and he wasn't)... but I'm probably over thinking it, lol. The St. Simons is considered a "luxury firm" so it isn't a plushy soft like the Prodigy, it is a different kind of soft. More like a "firm soft" (spongy kind of like latex feels). I figure it's much easier to soften a firm mattress than to firm up a soft mattress. There will be a 2" height difference between the mattresses but I really don't care as long as I get a good night's sleep. Also, if I have to add a topper in the future to make it a little softer, then that will make up for the 2" difference. I'll post an update/ review after sleeping on the St. Simons for a couple of weeks. Thank you Serta for your response, it's great to know that the manufacturer does care. I think you may have a glitch in your review system though? On 9/24/12 I received an e-mail stating, "Your review has been moderated and is live on our site." My review was posted for about a day and then removed. On 10/3/12 I received an e-mail stating, "Before publishing, we need to verify you submitted the following review." Serta iComfort Prodigy mattress set was purchased for my husband (175 lbs) and myslef (120 lbs). The mattress seems very well made and was soooo supportive and comfortable for the first month, but then... in the 5th week we started sinking (like a hammock as another reviewer put it). When I lay on my side it feels like I'm sleeping on a hill, lol. Side sleeping also causes strain on my knees because my hip sinks way down and my knees sit on the top of the mattress. In both scenarios (on back and on side), I wake up with terrible lower back & hip pain because the mattress has lost the wonderful supportive qualities it once had.
I slept on the mattress for approximately 6-7 weeks of the 9-1/2 months we've owned it. Every couple of weeks I'd unsuccessfully try sleeping on the mattress again for a night. I always ended up waking after a few hours with severe back/hip pain and going back to our guest bed to sleep. It seems like I sink more and more as the night goes on. Maybe it's caused by the warmth of my body heat? Our room temperature is usually about 68 degrees (so it isn't overly warm). Although, I think I remember the salesperson telling us that room temperature wouldn't matter with this mattress. To the reviewer who has a really firm bed, I'll trade ya, lol.
Finally fed up with not being able to sleep on my brand new mattress, my husband called the store we purchased the mattress from to tell them of our situation. Thankfully they are sending someone out tomorrow to check it out. I can't wait! I'll post an update after they leave to let you all know if this is how the bed is supposed to break in or if we qualify for a replacement.
9/19/12 update: The gentleman came and took measurements of our mattress this morning. He said we will here back from Serta within 7-10 days.
9/25/12 update: A few days ago I submitted this same review on Serta's website. On 9/24/12 I received a confirmation e-mail from Serta that "My review has been approved." I went to their website and sure enough it was posted. I went back today (9/25/12) to see if anyone commented and it's gone! The only reviews on their website are positive reviews. Shame on you Serta. As a consumer, I want to read the good & the bad to make an educated buying decision. This makes me very leery about reading reviews ONLY from their website. The iComfort Prodigy is one of the softest models we make. We have heard from many that they are very happy with this mattress, but for others it may be too soft for their body's individual needs. Comfort is an extremely personal thing, and what works for one when it comes to a mattress may not work for another. Your warranty covers manufacturing defects, but this is different from comfort preference. The inspection your retailer did will help determine the root cause of your problem and the appropriate solution.

I would recommend this bed to anyone that loves soft supportive beds. It's like the mama bear bed of all the memory foam beds I have checked out. It has great support as well. Every night when I get into bed, I smile and say "thank you God". I don't use the vibrate as it doesn't do anything for me but the adjustable is great for sitting up and watching TV. Once the smell goes away, I will give this bed a 5 star total. I have had my windows open and sheets off during the day, for a week. Plus ceiling fan. I have read that it goes away. I don't smell it when I am sleeping as the pillow appears to buffer it.
Made my purchase on 4/26/09.
This mattress was great for about 6 mo. it has been getting worse ever since. Sagging on both sides the mattress top is also separating causing it to wrinkle , and I wake up with a back ache 1/2 way through the night.. I hope the store will stand behind there product and let me exchange it.
If not I will never buy another Serta.

This mattress is so comfortable and it stays cool all night. It gives my back support and I have no more pain in my neck and shoulders when I wake up. This web page says there's no retailers here in Yuma Az but that's not correct. I purchased mine at the Mattress Warehouse on 24th st at a very nice price with in house financing.
my wife and I have had this bed for 2 weeks now and it is not getting any better as the nights progress and they will tell you your body has to get used to the new mattress because you were used to the old one! this is not the case, the bed is still hard, has not changed in comfort level at all, toss and turn all night knowing we have to deal with it for a minimum of 30 days before the store or serta will even consider hearing from us at all as it says on the warranty info that they gave us, if I had to do it again i would not!! it is torture to have to wait and put up with a mattress that is crap!

my wife and i went to a mattressland over labor day weekend and spent 2 hours trying and deciding on the serta i comfort insight model, it was comfortable in the showroom go figure! any way we end up buying the insight because it was in my range, NOT! I was willing to spend more to get a good nights sleep. got delivery of the bed yesterday, the bed is hard as a ROCK and this is the blue model for softness!! it is so bad my wife had to sleep in the office in the lazyboy!! while i tossed and turned all night. i dont see this bed getting softer anytime soon. salesman said it should get softer in time?
This is my second Serta in 2 years. The first was their Latex Pure Response Energizing King size. After one year they warrantied it and I was convinced to upgrade to the Entrancement. Again after 18 months the body impressions are deeper than expected. I am again left to hope they honor their warranty.
Lesson learned - avoid Latex mattresses.
this mattress is very expensive, Im wondering what the difference is with the no name brands in BJ's etc.
After about 2 mths the foam has lost its hardness and has become very inconsistent with the density of the layers of foam. This makes my husband and my back ache. Even my knees are aching...there are like soft marshmellow sections within the mattress. The edges have stayed hard, and so too the centre but where we lie (and we are a normal to low weight) seems to be sagging...not that you see that, but lie on the mattress and you can now feel inconsistent density of firmness...soft in some spots and harder in others....NOT GOOD FOR SUCH AN EXPENSIVE MATTRESS
We started out buying the king size Genius and absolutely hated it! Way too firm. We returned it after the evaluation period and got the Savant, which I believe used to be the Revolution. We've only had it a week, but it's great! I never wanted a memory foam as i have always been a pillow top fan, but this sleeps wonderfully. There was a stronger smell though with this model versus the Genius, maybe due to the fact there's more foam/gel in this model. I took all of the bedding off and let it air out for 2 days and that has helped, although I still smell a faint odor. I also don't think I'm sold on the cooling gel feature, but again it sleeps so good that doesn't matter.
Was very excited to get this mattress. The first thing I noticed when the wrapper came off was the fumes. It's hard go explain but it smelled like chemicals almost like a petroleum and gas. I waited thinking it would go away and it didn't. I called main office and customer service said put it in a room for two weeks with windows open and don't sleep on it. SERIOUSLY! I was also told it needed to off- gas to put socks on and walk on it to get the has to release faster. By the end of the day I had a burning sore throat, headache and felt nauseous. I had to go stay at my daughters. I called store and my salesman was wonderful and is taking it back and I picked out a new mattress. Call me crazy but I am not sleeping on anything that needs to off-gas. As for the comfort I never got to sleep in it but I am sure it's nice.
When getting a foam mattress i would suggest to start with a firmer one than what you think you will need. The adjustable base is great and a good investment.

Not worth the money huge disappointment. I've had my bed 8 months, now i am out looking for a new bed. Customer service said there was nothing they could do, suggested I rotate more often which doesn't help. If you want a bed that feels like a 30 year old spring matteres this is the bed for you. I have arthritis I bought it thinking it would help me feel better.

My husband and I love this mattress. We bought an entire house full of new furniture new sofas and all and seem to always end up watching tv in the bed because it is the most comfortable spot. After trips we are always so excited to get home to our own bed to get a good nights rest especially now that I am 8 months pregnant sleeping anywhere else is misery.
There was a kinda chemical smell when it first arrived, nobody warned us of the need to air it out and we slept on it the first week thinking it was the new smell of our furniture but it wasn't irritating or harmful and it went away quickly. My husband weighs 250 lbs and in every other bed we have had he would gravitate to the center of the bed and I would fall that way making it cramped but with this bed we stay on our respective sides, it supports him and me if we want to cuddle I still don't roll towards him it is a great fit. This mattress has been the best thing we have bought for our new home.
The only thing I can say is our bed has a flat frame built in and is king sized but the mattress is about 2 inches shy of filling it out. I'm not sure if the mattress is a smaller king or our bed is a larger king size but either way you can't tell with the comforter and all on so it really isn't an issue.
This mattress is entirely too soft. My opinion is that the pillow top is too plush inhibiting proper back support. Everyone that sleeps on this mattress complains of lower back pain in the morning. Even though I was assured the memory foam would not trap heat, it does indeed generate too much heat at times. After 4 years of lower back pain, and my body forming an obvious impression in the memory foam, it's time to buy another mattress with a firmer feel. I'm angry I paid for a higher end mattress that has to be replaced in 4 years! Note to mattress manufacturers: designing fancier unnecessary options in mattresses ie: memory foam, latex, pillow tops etc., is only causing more confusion and discomfort for the consumer. We know it's just a way for you to mark up the cost of a mattress & deliver more to your bottom line. Infuriating.

It sags, doesn't support you at all, have only had it for 5 months and is the worst bed I have ever owned. For a 1,000 dollars this bed should support you, but it doesn't. You can see the spots where it sags, I have rotated the sides I sleep on but that hasn't helped. I have a bad back and was told this was perfect for back issues.

This bed does not offer any type of cooling system. The cool gel is sandwiched in between layers. If you want to sweat all night, buy this bed.
We bot this bed at Bernie and Phyl's , we saw another type of bed (at another competitor's store) that had the cool gel system on the top layer and it actually feels cooler. Do not waste your money with icomfort. We exchanged it (if you call paying an addition $250 plus taxes plus additional cost of new mattress) for another traditional mattress that we don't really like but they had nothing else in our price band.
The bed is much harder than it was in the store and does not conform to our bodies. I wake up with backaches almost every morning. There is also an indentation on my side of the bed. REALLY!! and we have only had it for 6 weeks. We are returning it for another brand.
This bed is not for everyone and it is firm. I have two herneated disks in my lower back and I am in constant pain so finding a comfortable bed is difficult to say the least. This bed is amazingly comfortable. I had to return two other beds because they were not comfortable but the Genius is a keeper. I could not be happier. After reading every review possable on this bed I was scared about my purchase but I went through with it anyways. I am really glad I did because the bed is great. Don't believe all the bad reviews. I think the bad reviews are coming from people that sell tempurpedics and they don't carry the icomfort.

We have had our mattress for two months and we loved it from day one. No break in period of any knid, no off gassing. easy to move aound in, easy to get in and out, no movement for the other person. We have just came back from vacation in a 5 star hotel and couldnt wait to get back in our own bed.

I bought this king sized mattress set originally in spring of 2007. It felt *great* in the showroom, and took a lot to convince me- as it was the most expensive one there. I believe in 'you get what you pay for', so I ponied up the $1500.00.
It took 2 years for me to wake up in pain enough times to call the furniture store I purchased it from and complain. He acted as if he was doing us a favor, because he said Serta required there to be a 6" sag or impression for it to be covered under warranty. The mattress is only 9-10 inches thick to begin with.... Funny, but I just took the tags off to get the model # for this review, and Serta states 1 1/2" sag or impression..... If that is the case, we should be getting a new mattress every 6 months to a year from Serta, for the duration of the warranty, because it is well over a 1 1/2' hole I am/have been sleeping in. This time it has been 3 years, and waking up is a nightmare, and requires pain medicine to make it stop.
Vera should have stuck to designing clothes, and Serta should have made a better mattress- Perfect Sleeper? More like a torture chamber with sheets.. This one is horrible. I would not recommend it to someone I hated.

Overall my husband and I are pleased with the mattress however it is a lot harder than the one in the store. We were assured that it would soften up, but it has been three months and has hardly changed.
I would also agree with the other reviewer that when the mattress was first delivered the smell of chemicals was overwhelming. I could not even go into the bedroom without being knocked over by the fumes from it. I refused to sleep on it until we aired it out, but we live in a condo downtown with no balcony this was really a big problem. I finally drug the mattress out onto the shared public terrace of the condo building to sit in the sun for two days. After we brought it back in it still smelled so bad I wrapped it in two mattress pads to try to cover the smell up. I still couldn't sleep on it without waking up in the middle of the night with my eyes and throat burning. I ended up sleeping in the other bedroom for about a month until the chemical smell dissipated enough for me to stand it. Amazingly enough though, my husband couldn't smell it at all and thought I was crazy. I really believe people have different abilities to smell like they do to with vision and it depends how sensitive your nose is. Nevertheless, I wish Serta would do something about the smell before shipping the mattresses out to the warehouse. It seems like an easy enough problem to fix and the repercussions to sales and possible health risks enough of an incentive.
If you don't weigh 200lbs the bed will feel like a brick, I slept on this bed for almost three monthes and experienced pain every night. When I stood on the bed it appears extreemly soft because all my weight is in one spot. But when by weight is distributed across the bed it is too firm.
Hopefully it won't be $1100 down the drain and Serta or 1-800-Mattress will honor their pro-rated 10 yr. guarantee. this bed is all style, no substance. Like the other reviewers said, sure felt great in the showroom, but absolutely no support after a few months. We wake up with back pain regularly, not feeling ANY bounceback when we hit the hard part under the soft sagging
top. Would rate this ZERO stars, but we were both taken with the mattress top fabric design, the only thing going for this POS bed.
Was comfortable for about a year, then it began to sag terribly. I can't sleep on my stomach with this mattress because there is not enough support in the middle anymore. The memory foam has completely collapsed under my hips, and I constantly have an ache in my side when I get out of bed. The sag is not noticeable when you look at the bed, but when you lay down, your hips sink almost five inches into the bed! We're already looking to replace this mattress after only four years of use. Bad purchase!!
After only 3 months our new serta mattress began to sag under us. the resulting hump in the middle can be seen 50ft away! Serta "inspector" comes out to inspect, but instead of using a straight edge level to measure the sag, he lays a string over the hump and finds no defect. I could lay a string over my dog and by serta"s standards he's not there. If you see the string come out, you know you're not going to get justice!
After sleeping on the bed for 3 nights I was ready to return it no one ever told us about the "air cells" in the mattress the bed was rock hard! I called in and the rep said I needed to "walk" on the the bed to break it in or have my kids jump on it. After a few months of dealing with this super hard bed I called in and had a Serta rep fly out and check the bed he said there was a black pen mark on the underside on the mattress so they would not check for defects in the bed untill we had it cleaned so needless to say I dont have the time to fight we Serta over this very over price uncomfortable bed so I stuck with it. I would not recomend this bed to any one.

The noxious smell is overwhelming. I hope it goes away. I am glad we have some mild February days because I have windows open creating a cross-ventilation. Can't imagine putting it in a room with only one window because of the odor. It irritates my throat.
I purchased the Twin XL adjustable "Revolution" model.
The sleeping surface seemed narrower than it should be, 38". It is actually 36" wide, 2" less than it should be. And instead of 80" long, it is 78" long, 2" less than it should be.
Perhaps the mattress narrows at the top for structural support.
But in that case, it should start with a wider base, so that the top will be a full 38" wide.
Unfortunately the store, very reputable, did not have the Twin XL model on the floor so that I could find this out ahead of time.
The massage option is a joke, very noisy and vibrates the floor. I asked for a no massage option - not available. So I paid for the massage option because I had no choice.
They do not offer a full size in adjustable beds, which I wanted. Only Twin XL, Queen, King.
Be careful when buying the adjustable model.
You can return the mattress, but not the base, which costs more than the mattress.
Time will tell with the comfort, and the noxious odor.
But immediately, I feel cheated on the size.
We bought a King Size Serta Trump Mattress and within 14 months it had an inch and three quarter body impression! My husband and I are neither obese people. We did not qualify under the warranty for a replacement mattress because of the fact that I cut off all the excess tags on the boxspring; they were a nuisance to look at. What a mistake that was! So I will not be dealing with this corrupt company ever again! I thought a receipt was all you needed!
