We recently purchased a Saatva mattress after a lengthy period of deliberation. After all, buying a product of this type over the internet was a bit uneasy. However, after sleeping on the mattress for a period of time, it is by far the best mattress we've ever owned!!! With that said, we found the company itself to be one of integrity, character, and truly committed to their customers.
While we made every effort to ensure that we had purchased the correct mattress (as suggested on Saatva’s website), we found that we 'should' have purchased the foundation for our platform bed. This would have made periodic rotations and changing the linens much easier. Because we purchased the 14.5 inch mattress, adding the 4 inch foundation would have brought the total height to an uncomfortable level.
After speaking with Charlie in customer service, we decided that we needed the 11.5 inch mattress, along with the 4 inch foundation, resulting in desired height.
While they have a lenient exchange policy, I realize that any exchange is a cost to Saatva, something I’m sure they want to avoid (and we as well). With that said, our satisfaction was as important to them as the success of their company, as shown in their willingness to make the appropriate exchange. This level of customer commitment is hard to find in any industry today, let alone the mattress industry. Saatva is ‘head and shoulders’ above their competitors.
I will ALWAYS purchase a Saatva mattress in the years to come. Their products are the best in the industry and they are fantastic company to work with!!
This is the second set of mattresses I have purchased from Saatva. I was very satisfied with the King set I purchased which led to the second set of mattresses I purchased, a Queen set for another home. The actual purchase was extremely easy, kind of a 1-pick the one that works for you, 2-provide the information needed and 3-simple direct instructions to follow for delivery. They even on the first e-mail take the time to make sure of the actual size and height you will need for your environment ( I had to make a couple of changes to the first set.) Needless to say the best sleep and comfort at both places for this senior lady.
1 year review. All I can say is, after spending way to much $$ for what I was told "premium, the best, never need another etc." For sucked into buying them only to not get the good sleep I needed. I found Saatva just by researching online. I was on the fence for a few months due to sight unseen. BUT, Wow! I didn't think it was possible I could sleep so good. I called Saatva first just to get information. Debated about one day, then ordered. Best customer service, delivery and price. What I paid is well worth the sleep I get every night. Way to go Saatva. !! Now my mom is buying one too. You will not regret your purchase.
I researched mattresses in the stores for over a year. It was the most awful shopping experience I have ever encountered. Once I felt like I had make a good choice I would go online and goggle the reviews on the mattress and they were always bad. No matter which brand; the persons who purchased the mattress was always disappointed. I had given up and was sleeping on my couch because my Sealy was so terrible and felt like I was sleeping on a pothole. I finally started researching online and came upon the Saatva website. I reviewed the site and read the reviews. I thought the reviews were too good and felt they were fake but I figured what the heck. The return policy was good. I ordered the queen Luxury firm 11.5 inch, 4 inch foundation and the frame which is about 7 inches. My bed measures a total of 22" in height. I was going for the more low profile modern look. I was very afraid this bed would be to low but it is not and adds to my modern look. I did not want a thick heavy mattress.
It took all 18 days for my delivery because Saatva does not have a store in Texas and the bed is custom made upon order.
I suffer terrible back pain and because it had been a year since I had a good night sleep I was only logging 4 hours of sleep each night. The first night I slept on my Saatva bed my back pain was reduced dramatically. Before I would wake up feeling as if my back was broke. Now I wake up with little to no back pain. I also sleep like a log. I have trouble getting up because I do not want to leave my mattress. If you are checking out this site, trust the reviews. I didn't and just bought the mattress with nothing to lose. My gamble paid off. I will only buy Saatva as my mattress.
It has been over six months since I purchased my Saatva mattress and it is as wonderful to sleep on as the first day I purchased it.
The luxury firm is not too soft and not hard like a rock. It is just right. I LOVE THIS BED and highly recommend it to everyone.

I've had this bed for almost a year now. It is just as amazing and fantastic as it was when I got. It is comfortable. properly supporting without being too hard, just plush enough to feel pampering. It's the best. And if that is not enough, the purchase experience was perfect!
Ordered: 3/26 - The reviews around are clearly all very positive, and I am oh so happy to report it's all true! I too have been shopping for a mattress for a very long time, from store to store, and site to site in search of a reasonably priced comfort and really, a good night's sleep. Needless to say that the experience in any store is always unpleasant, uncomfortable, and plain bad. The pressure... and the fake stories... and overpriced products. It's too much.
And then I found Saatva! I ordered my mattress online on a Tuesday night, well late into the night (since I was not sleeping well...) after a quick chat with the rep, who I really am sorry I don't recall the name. He was very pleasant, knowledgable, and kind. I got all the information I was looking for very quikcly I did not even have to look. Wednesday morning I got a call to confirm my order, and shortly after both call and email to schedule delivery, again all very quick, painless, and pleasant. I had my new mattress by Saturday morning ahead of schedule.
In this day and age, where bad service is the very unfortunate norm, I do believe it is important to mention this fantastic service. Even my chat with Craig, the representative I chatted with after the mattress arrived was quick and easy, I got all the information I needed on maintenance of my new mattress within minutes, and wads never asked too many questions or had to wait too much to get help. If Saatva would sell any other product - I'm buying!
My mom has been suffering from back and neck pain for many years now.
She has had two knee replacements, shoulder replacement, and rotator cup surgery.
Last year she needed to replace her mattress. She went to a “Big Box” store and thought she purchased one of the firmest beds available. What a joke that turned out to be. After a few weeks the mattress turned soft and started caving in in various sections. Each night she attempted to go to sleep, only to be awake most of the night from the discomfort. We have been attempting to work with the “big box” customer service, only to be told to send pictures with a ruler, string & pencil to show the crevices.
Their supposed 10 year warranty is useless. They create so much paperwork and discourage anyone attempting a credit or return.
Well Mom had been so unhappy and in so much pain, I decided to do a bit of research for a new mattress.
Being an avid Facebook user, the Saatva advertisement peaked my interest.
Of course, I was very skeptical ordering a mattress online. Before placing the order I spoke with Saatva customer service. They answered all of my questions and even recommended the exact mattress for my mom’s needs.
Needless to say, I placed the order for a King Firm. (Mom only likes a firm mattress). The order, manufacturing and delivery were all completed with 12 days.
During every part of the process, I was kept in the loop via e mail and phone. The delivery men were not only on time but came a bit early. They promptly removed the old mattress and brought in a little (well King Size) slice of heaven.
So every day, since the mattress has been delivered, I ask Mom (during our daily morning call) how she slept? She says she only gets up once per night (bathroom break) instead of the previous 5-7 times.
No more back, neck or leg pain. She can’t keep thanking me enough for the new bed.
So to Saatva we give **5 stars***!! And to Sears (Big Box) you have now lost all our business for good!!
I was reluctant to buy a mattress online without trying it first because I've had back problems for years. I must say this is the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on!! I fully believe if this mattress was sold in a store it would have been 3 times the price and I never would have bought it because that cost would have been way out of my budget. I was also concerned if I should buy an adjustable mattress and what firmness. I read the reviews and decided to take a chance. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this mattress and for the first time in years have not awoken with back pain.
I researched several months and kept "selling" Saatva to my husband after reading reviews on their site plus on google reviews. He said "order it"! He slept all night in the same position and was totally impressed! I think it is very comfortable even though I have inflammation issues. We didn't receive notice of delivery date and apparently our mattress was in a city 2 1/2 hours away for awhile, but after a phone call we had it the next day. Pleasant men delivered and set up a completely wrapped and clean mattress set. We recommend this company to our friends and anyone who is mattress shopping!
We meant to review our mattress about 4 weeks ago when we first got our Saatva mattress but we haven't been able to get out of bed! We got the plush version of this mattress and we love it! It offers more firmness than you'd expect from a plush mattress but it still has that welcoming soft feel. Our backs feel better and it's easy and comfortable to turn over in bed and switch from side to side during the night - there's enough foundation for that in a comfortable way. We love this mattress!
I have been looking for the last couple of years for a mattress. I was very nervous about making a decision because you really can't tell if you are going to like something by laying on it for 3 minutes in a store. And, very nervous about buying a mattress online, sight unseen.
While on Facebook, I saw the advertisement for Saatva. I started looking into it and reading the reviews.
I liked the fact that it had coil on coil construction and not just memory foam. I took a leap of faith and went ahead and ordered the Luxury Firm, King Size with the 8" box frames.
This was the best decision ever. I received it sooner than expected and we love it. No more aches and pains when we get up in the morning.
According to a tracking device I recently received, I was getting an average of 3 - 4 hours of sleep every night. Now with the new Saatva, I am getting 6 - 7 hours of sleep per night.
I would recommend anyone who has any doubt to just try it out. I promise you'll love it.
There is a reason why there are so many comments regarding delivery - Saatva's delivery services are poorly lacking. I realize that Saatva relies on their delivery partners however would recommend Saatva evaluate their partners and work with only those that meet/keep commitments.
I was on the verge of canceling the entire order after trying to work with Saatva and their delivery staff - the mattress itself may be good but, in hindsight, the delivery hassle's just are not worth it.
Buyer beware, although the website currently tells you only that they use a "natural thistle fire barrier with a bit of polyester", there IS something else in the fire barrier. I started having lung irritation after taking it out of the plastic and this irritation is consistent with my experiences with other mattresses where the fire barrier was an issue. It is NOT off gassing, it's not fumes, it is an odorless irritant and it doesn't go away. This is exactly what I was trying to avoid by buying this mattress. I e-mailed the company and asked if they used something else in their fire barrier. I asked about silica and I was told there "may" be silica in there and that if I was sensitive I shouldn't buy the mattress. Why not disclose this in the first place and avoid this nonsense? I also asked them about borates but recieved no response on that one. No refund, now I can't breath, coughing... Buyers beware, if you're at all sensitive let me give you the warning that the Saatva website does not give you: This mattress may cause lung irritation.
We take these false accusations very seriously. This person never bought from us. She bought a used Saatva from a thrift store. Actually, we, nor this person can attest that the used mattress she bought from the thrift store is a genuine Saatva. We have no idea what condition or even how many owners had this used mattress. We do know the factory fresh Saatva mattresses are environmentally friendly with no irritants. We wish this person the best of luck in finding her mattress source. Again, it is only appropriate that this person should state she did not buy from Saatva.
The reviews led us to hope for a quality, comfortable, reasonably priced mattress without the salesperson blather. Initial quality was very good. Comfortable, apparently well made unit. Delivery was messed up/damage but customer service $adjusted for us. Unfortunately the body depressions grew rapidly and became uncomfortable. We come in at 195 and 135 lbs. so no mitigating circumstances. Now my wife (the 135 lb.) complains of discomfort in the "gully". Even not so heavy areas as knees generate a good depression area. I submitted a review on the Saatva website but it was intercepted and not published. So here I am to advise the other side to all the great initial reviews.
We are very sorry and concerned as to this customer's comments about his Saatva. We spoke with the customer back in late February when he wrote his initial comments. We gave a partial refund and the customer posted a very positive review of the situation. However, at this point, we know this to be a defective mattress as the customer's description in this review speaks only of a rare time that a Saatva mattress is built defectively. We called the customer last week, left a message for him to return the call as our intention is to quickly remove the mattress and give the customer every nickel of the remaining monies he paid to Saatva. The customer has yet to contact us. We look forward to resolving this issue as fast as possible. Our apology to this customer for receiving what we now know to be a defective Saatva mattress.
Based on a suggestion from my chiropractor, we purchased this mattress about five months ago. Because I have a 'bad back', we went beyond the 30-day return cutoff, blaming my back and not the bed. This bed has never felt comfortable and my assessment is that it is too soft. The quality is fine and the customer service is great. When I finally called the company, they offered to send a firmer mattress to the tune of $240. We get to keep the luxury firm mattress. The firmer mattress has arrived and it is better but not great. Since we have already invested so much money in this mattress, I am looking at adding a foam topper. If I lay on my back and don't move all night, my lower back is ok. I cannot sleep in any other position on this mattress without tempting the 'Back Fates'. I would dearly love to find a mattress that made me love getting into bed. This is not it. A word to the wise.....keep an eye on the calendar when trying out this mattress. If it doesn't feel good within a week, it's not going to get any better. I should have followed my own advice. I will be trying out foam mattresses for the next several weeks!!
I recieved a call from the CEO of Saatva. After a conversation about my experience with the mattress, he agreed to accept the returned mattress. I will pay a minimal return fee. This is a decent resolution to our issue.

We purchased the Luxury Firm mattress. After sleeping on it for several, we found it very uncomfortable. My arm regularly falls asleep and I wake up having to change positions and with that awful prickly feeling. We were reluctant to go through the hassle of returning it and having to find another mattress and decided to purchase a foam topper to cushion it. We purchased a 4 inch foam topper and spent 2 weeks trying that out. The mattress is still uncomfortable. I then contacted Saatva to return the mattress. We were 10 days past the 30-day return window. They offered no flexibility despite our efforts (purchasing the foam topper) and despite the 30 day window occuring over the holidays (Xmas and New Years).
I would not recommed the mattress or Saatva to anyone.
