We meant to review our mattress about 4 weeks ago when we first got our Saatva mattress but we haven't been able to get out of bed! We got the plush version of this mattress and we love it! It offers more firmness than you'd expect from a plush mattress but it still has that welcoming soft feel. Our backs feel better and it's easy and comfortable to turn over in bed and switch from side to side during the night - there's enough foundation for that in a comfortable way. We love this mattress!
I have been looking for the last couple of years for a mattress. I was very nervous about making a decision because you really can't tell if you are going to like something by laying on it for 3 minutes in a store. And, very nervous about buying a mattress online, sight unseen.
While on Facebook, I saw the advertisement for Saatva. I started looking into it and reading the reviews.
I liked the fact that it had coil on coil construction and not just memory foam. I took a leap of faith and went ahead and ordered the Luxury Firm, King Size with the 8" box frames.
This was the best decision ever. I received it sooner than expected and we love it. No more aches and pains when we get up in the morning.
According to a tracking device I recently received, I was getting an average of 3 - 4 hours of sleep every night. Now with the new Saatva, I am getting 6 - 7 hours of sleep per night.
I would recommend anyone who has any doubt to just try it out. I promise you'll love it.
This mattress is beautiful and everything I hoped it would be. Before this mattress my husband and I might get 3 or 4 hours sleep, tossing and turning and get out of bed about 5 am. The first night sleeping on our new Saatva we went to bed at 9 pm and slept until 7:30 am, except for the usual bathroom call. We both got out of bed without the usual aches and pains. Can't wait for another great nights sleep. Thanks Saatva.
It's been about two weeks since our mattress was delivered, and I gotta tell ya, I feel really, really good about the purchase. Here's why...
1. It was wonderful not having to go into a cookie-cutter mattress store and ... (you know the rest).
2. Ordered the mattress, two days later received a phone call to discuss the purchase, six days later received another phone call telling us the mattress was ready for delivery. The delivery company worked around our schedule, which my wife and I appreciated very much.
3. Mattress delivered on time. The delivery gentlemen were terrific. They had a hard time getting the mattress through the narrow stairwell, but they did it without a complaint or cuss word.
4. The best part of all this is that the mattress is so comfortable. I've never been one to "want to go to bed" but I now look forward to it.
5. Oh, and about my aching back. I haven't felt this limber and pain free in the morning in years. It's funny because I keep waiting for the pain to return when I get up but it hasn't so far.
While I read reviews, I've never felt compelled to write one until now.

I was originally skeptical about making a mattress purchase online, however, after my experiences with Saatva…I am very happy that I took the chance. I purchased my Saatva mattress in November 2014 and felt it necessary to wait until now before posting a review. I chose to write this simply because I relied on others reviews to help me make my decision to purchase, and I hope it helps you if you are on the fence about making the plunge…so here you go. I have had my mattress for a little over 60 days and I am in love. The purchase was very simple and easy to complete online with no hidden fees throughout the process. About 14 days after my purchase I received a phone call from the delivery company to set up a date and a time window for delivery. The delivery company arrived when expected and was very professional. A few days after delivery, I did have a question about the foundation and subsequently sent Saatva an email. Within 5 minutes of sending my email I received a phone call from Saatva with an answer to my question. I have NEVER had a company respond so fast to an email and to do so with a phone call….simply amazing. The Saatva representative was very responsive and nice, and she quickly answered my questions offering her direct number if anything comes up and I should have more questions. I give Saatva’s customer service an A+. This is reassuring to me that they stand behind their product and are willing to go above and beyond to make their customers feel like they made the right decision. So now about the mattress itself. I purchased a king sized luxury firm and I gotta say that I have never had a better night’s sleep than I have had with my Saatva mattress. I wake up feeling refreshed with absolutely no back pain. I was also worried about off gassing and chemical odors that are common with new mattresses and was quite surprised when this was not the case. I feel very comfortable recommending Saatva and feel confident that you will have no regrets with your purchase.
When we contacted Saatva for information, we spoke to Ed Brians, Ed was so helpful with his recommendations of following items... Queen size Saatva Luxury Firm Flagship Mattress, Queen size Foundation, Queen size Frame, Delivery and Set Up. We were most impressed by the lengthily time he took to ask about how we were sleeping, what if any problems we were experiencing with our current bed, and what we were expecting of a new bed. He took all of our information and by the time we finished our conversation, there was no doubt that Saatva would soon be in our home.
The Saatva bed arrived on Wednesday the 28th at 9:30 AM, a half hour earlier than the delivery service scheduled. The delivery men were courteous, efficient, and very complimentary about Saatva and how happy other customers were when they delivered to them. They presented a very positive impression of your company.
Terri and I cannot believe how wonderful our Saatva bed is; so plush, so full, and oh so comfortable. Perhaps the best way to describe why we say this is to list the following... After Saatva:
We anticipated the first night in the bed would not go so well as we might need to get use to sleeping on a new bed, boy-O-boy were we wrong! Terri slept from 11:00 PM to 9:30 AM the next morning, waking up refreshed and pain free. Exclaiming she couldn't believable how comfortable our new Saatva was; and that she didn't feel me tossing or turning at all. She slept an unbelievable ten hours, which was unheard of before our new bed!
Where I normally only sleep about four hours (torturously), I slept in a deep, peaceful, single position for seven hours; something I haven't experienced for many years. I woke up without any of the usual pains, invigorated, and ready to face the day. A peaceful, healthy, and happy nights sleep. Unreal!
We were so happy with our new Saatva, that on Thursday afternoon we took a three hour nap, just because it felt so good.
I absolutely love this mattress. It is incredibly comfortable and supportive. I was nervous to buy a mattress online instead of through a retailer, but I'm glad I did!
However, when I placed the order, I was told that the mattress would be delivered in 5-12 days. A large span, but I figured with the holidays, it would take at least 12. The mattress did not show up for 17 days. Maybe I misunderstood that it was 12 business days or just 12 days to make it and THEN some mystery time to deliver, but that needs to be clarified by customer service more clearly. Secondly, when the delivery men showed up, they reeked of smoke. My entire apartment smelled of smoke when they left and thus my mattress had a musky sent from them setting it up. I know Saatva outsources their shipping, but considering they're an online retailer, they need to vet their delivery vendor more closely.
I would recommend the mattress, I just hope that you have a better delivery experience.
My bed was shot and was having terrible back pains. I desperately needed a new bed and spend weeks researching Tempurpedic, the adjustable air bed, all the name brands. It was nearly impossible to find apple to apple comparisons as companies seemingly didn't want you to be able to do that. I finally looked online to see what was the best rated from a customer standpoint and came across Saatva. I never heard of them but was impressed with their website. Straight forward, honest, no gimmicks, no B.S., no misleading claims about their warranty. They told you exactly how their beds were made and what was in them. I was VERY impressed with the organic cotton, recycled steel, and natural foam they used. I liked their sliding scale test that told you how soft or firm your bed should be. They told you point blank if you needed a firmer or softer bed than they made to look elsewhere. I likes that they didn't just have these bed stacked in a warehouse but made them for you upon your order. Saatva customer reps contacted me to conform the order and tell me what to expect and when to expect it. I knew from the beginning it would take between 14-20 days to get my bed because they only made it upon my order. Upon completion they allowed my to select the day I wanted it delivered and a four-hour time frame. The deliverers took away my old bed and professionally put together my new one for me. Then they sat down and reviewed all the paper work and explained the warranty and asked my to sign stating I was happy with the delivery, installation, treatment by the deliverers. I love my Saatva bed. It's sturdy, comfortable, very supportive, and upon the second night my back pains went away that all the Advil in the world wouldn't relieve. I love the organic and natural materials as there never was any chemical orders from the cover or foam. The price was great $1350 for all the options I wanted, installation, delivery, and removal of my old bed. I wish all my purchasing experiences were as great a this!!
We were hesitant to order a mattress sight unseen, but after reading the great reviews regarding the product and Saatva's customer service ratings, we confidently ordered a queen firm mattress. Ordering was easy and was followed up by a phone call and e-mail. We were even assured we would receive the mattress before Christmas.
When I got no call from the delivery service the day prior to the scheduled delivery, I called the carrier but they were closed. A Saatva representative called the carrier and assured me I would receive a call regarding delivery between 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. that evening. When no call came, I called the carrier the following morning only to learn that an inventory mistake was made and the delivery would be in approximately two weeks. I was very disappointed the carrier failed to call me at any point, and especially disappointed that they failed to inform me no delivery would occur on the scheduled date. I called a Saatva representative, who was very sympathetic and apologetic, and compensated me for the delay. A follow-up call to me was made by Ed Brians ,the Executive Vice President, and he was gracious enough to speak to me and my wife for several minutes and turned my disappointment completely around. The mattress was delivered within one week rather than two. Also, to the carrier's credit, they called me and proved that customer satisfaction is also the number one priority with them. I cannot imagine receiving this high level of customer service from any other business.
Regarding the firm mattress we ordered, it is definitely firm but very comfortable. We are sleeping well on this high quality mattress.

This is the best mattress ever, yes I was skeptical about buying online, but I did my research it's the way they make their mattress . This mattress is so comfortable!, I feel lucky to have one, It feels like cloud 9, perfect about of firmness with a pillow top feel!

There is a reason why there are so many comments regarding delivery - Saatva's delivery services are poorly lacking. I realize that Saatva relies on their delivery partners however would recommend Saatva evaluate their partners and work with only those that meet/keep commitments.
I was on the verge of canceling the entire order after trying to work with Saatva and their delivery staff - the mattress itself may be good but, in hindsight, the delivery hassle's just are not worth it.
Buyer beware, although the website currently tells you only that they use a "natural thistle fire barrier with a bit of polyester", there IS something else in the fire barrier. I started having lung irritation after taking it out of the plastic and this irritation is consistent with my experiences with other mattresses where the fire barrier was an issue. It is NOT off gassing, it's not fumes, it is an odorless irritant and it doesn't go away. This is exactly what I was trying to avoid by buying this mattress. I e-mailed the company and asked if they used something else in their fire barrier. I asked about silica and I was told there "may" be silica in there and that if I was sensitive I shouldn't buy the mattress. Why not disclose this in the first place and avoid this nonsense? I also asked them about borates but recieved no response on that one. No refund, now I can't breath, coughing... Buyers beware, if you're at all sensitive let me give you the warning that the Saatva website does not give you: This mattress may cause lung irritation.
We take these false accusations very seriously. This person never bought from us. She bought a used Saatva from a thrift store. Actually, we, nor this person can attest that the used mattress she bought from the thrift store is a genuine Saatva. We have no idea what condition or even how many owners had this used mattress. We do know the factory fresh Saatva mattresses are environmentally friendly with no irritants. We wish this person the best of luck in finding her mattress source. Again, it is only appropriate that this person should state she did not buy from Saatva.
The reviews led us to hope for a quality, comfortable, reasonably priced mattress without the salesperson blather. Initial quality was very good. Comfortable, apparently well made unit. Delivery was messed up/damage but customer service $adjusted for us. Unfortunately the body depressions grew rapidly and became uncomfortable. We come in at 195 and 135 lbs. so no mitigating circumstances. Now my wife (the 135 lb.) complains of discomfort in the "gully". Even not so heavy areas as knees generate a good depression area. I submitted a review on the Saatva website but it was intercepted and not published. So here I am to advise the other side to all the great initial reviews.
We are very sorry and concerned as to this customer's comments about his Saatva. We spoke with the customer back in late February when he wrote his initial comments. We gave a partial refund and the customer posted a very positive review of the situation. However, at this point, we know this to be a defective mattress as the customer's description in this review speaks only of a rare time that a Saatva mattress is built defectively. We called the customer last week, left a message for him to return the call as our intention is to quickly remove the mattress and give the customer every nickel of the remaining monies he paid to Saatva. The customer has yet to contact us. We look forward to resolving this issue as fast as possible. Our apology to this customer for receiving what we now know to be a defective Saatva mattress.
Based on a suggestion from my chiropractor, we purchased this mattress about five months ago. Because I have a 'bad back', we went beyond the 30-day return cutoff, blaming my back and not the bed. This bed has never felt comfortable and my assessment is that it is too soft. The quality is fine and the customer service is great. When I finally called the company, they offered to send a firmer mattress to the tune of $240. We get to keep the luxury firm mattress. The firmer mattress has arrived and it is better but not great. Since we have already invested so much money in this mattress, I am looking at adding a foam topper. If I lay on my back and don't move all night, my lower back is ok. I cannot sleep in any other position on this mattress without tempting the 'Back Fates'. I would dearly love to find a mattress that made me love getting into bed. This is not it. A word to the wise.....keep an eye on the calendar when trying out this mattress. If it doesn't feel good within a week, it's not going to get any better. I should have followed my own advice. I will be trying out foam mattresses for the next several weeks!!
I recieved a call from the CEO of Saatva. After a conversation about my experience with the mattress, he agreed to accept the returned mattress. I will pay a minimal return fee. This is a decent resolution to our issue.

We purchased the Luxury Firm mattress. After sleeping on it for several, we found it very uncomfortable. My arm regularly falls asleep and I wake up having to change positions and with that awful prickly feeling. We were reluctant to go through the hassle of returning it and having to find another mattress and decided to purchase a foam topper to cushion it. We purchased a 4 inch foam topper and spent 2 weeks trying that out. The mattress is still uncomfortable. I then contacted Saatva to return the mattress. We were 10 days past the 30-day return window. They offered no flexibility despite our efforts (purchasing the foam topper) and despite the 30 day window occuring over the holidays (Xmas and New Years).
I would not recommed the mattress or Saatva to anyone.
