Insights from Saatva
Saatva (which means "truth"). Our belief is that people can make an intelligent mattress buying decision without high pressure or a phony sale. Our extremely efficient online business model allows us to sell our luxury mattresses online for so much less than our competitors who operate stores. It's clear that more and more consumers are becoming e-commerce savvy. Through our world class e-commerce site, we are able to make all the necessary information clear and precise, so you can take your time and shop at your leisure. We have made buying a luxury mattress easy. At Saatva, you receive a 75 day home trial, with no pick up fees, no restocking fees. The only cost you would be responsible for is your original delivery fee. This is the friendliest return policy in the luxury mattress market. Retail stores continue to charge excessive fees inclusive of exchange/restocking fees and pickup charges for returning a mattress. E-commerce businesses generally have better return policies, so we must exceed your expectations. That's our philosophy, and that's what we do every day. Buying online is simple, smart and efficient.
Additionally, please know we take great pride in our ability to build the best mattress available and that each Saatva mattress is handcrafted in America. We select the best mattress manufacturers in America that service our local distribution areas to craft our proprietary product.

I regret returning this mattress. I bought the luxury firm a few months ago. I examined the mattress after it was delivered and the threading on top of the mattress was a mess--there were loose threads everywhere and the mattress itself looked so cheap, nothing like what was portrayed online (I have pictures). Instant I thought I had been scammed--I spoke to customer service and they were wonderful and gave me a few options but I decided to return it. i slept on it for 3 weeks before they picked up the bed. After, I went out and bought a Serta, which costed wayyyyy more, and my sleep is as horrible as when I had my old mattress. I miss the Saatva mattress! I should have been more patient. I realized after that I woke up with no back/ hip pain (I have sciatica) and now with the Serta mattress, I am having back pain again. The retailer will not refund or exchange. I am super sad. I will purchase a Saatva mattress next time for sure.
Here in a nuteshell is why I LOVE Saatva:
Mattress has NO ODOR upon delivery. None
Easy order, delivery, & mattress removal.
AMAZING FANTASTIC customer service
Unbeatable PRICE for value.
Eco friendy, made in USA, organic cotton
Basically the most comfortable mattress my husband and I have ever owned. Perfect support, temperature, and softness.
Did I mention PRICE??? I am going to replace every mattress we own with a Saatva mattress. HIGHLY recommend!
Ratings and Reviews are everything to the average e-commerce savvy shopper. While I'd love to believe that Saatva is moderating their reviews to only filter out vulgarities, I am now under the impression that they are filtering out the negative reviews as well. I purchased this bed in January for a new apartment, in a new city. When the first bed arrived (a Full), I was so excited as every single review was a positive one. Unfortunately, I had some issues with the delivery team smelling of smoke. After using the bed for a few days, I realized that there was no center support and the center of the bed was sagging more than a normal bed should. Saatva customer service graciously allowed me to return the bed and apologized for the delivery team. They said that people don't normally purchase the Full beds, and it must have just been a rare mistake that the bed was sagging so much, but I decided to upgrade as the Queen sized bed has a center bar on the frame to provide more support (I paid for this). The very apologetic customer service representative said he would be in touch throughout the process to see how delivery went and to follow-up on the feel of the mattress. After I received the Queen mattress (with no delivery issues - they were very professional), I realized that there was a large lump all the way across the bottom of the bed. I was moving to a new apartment the next week, so I held off waiting for customer service to call me while I was busy working as well as packing up to give the benefit of the doubt that maybe the hump would go down in a week or so. Unfortunately, to no ones fault but my own, I've officially missed the time to exchange my mattress again as the lump is still there and the customer service rep still hasn't reached out, and honestly, I couldn't afford to take another day off of work for a bed exchange at this point because they only deliver during the weekdays. All in all, the bed is fine, customer service was great in the beginning of the transaction, but I wouldn't buy another Saatva.
This is my story, very true..My husband and I felt it was time to buy a new mattress. we talked about it, and me I like to pray about things before i make a decision, but in this case, I forgot to and it came back to bite me in the butt!. we started looking for a mattress, and did no research at all thinking nothing had changed since our 14yr old mattress, right..wrong! it had changed big time. we bought a Serta gel foam Icomfort mattress, 1900.00 only to find out that i was allergic to the gel foam, so we traded up to a Tempurpedic 2600.00. worst ever.. had thee worst allergic reaction to that, breathing problems, breakout , swelling, you name it..never had allergies before the beds. then I prayed to God, asked him to help me out of this nightmare, he sent me to this page one night when I could'nt sleep,. for one I was sleeping on my couch, very uncomfortable..so I came across saatva.. I believe God lead me..and I read the reviews, no one had anything bad to say. Also M ADE IN AMERICA ! great! so I stepped out in faith and made the call...I'm so glad I did..thanks be to God! this bed is amazing very comfortable, no smells, no allergies, and I'm much better. we are going to buy one for our son, sometime soon. I would highly recommend this company, and there mattresses. I now get a good night sleep and my husband even loves the mattress. I waited a week before the review, to make sure everything was good, very pleased!
I had researched mattresses for months when I stumbled across Saatva. I was impressed with other reviews and the positive feedback I found everywhere I searched. We have now had our King size Luxury Firm mattress for a little over a year. My husband and I are very pleased with it. My husband stated after the first night of sleep that it was the best sleep he has had in years. He used to wake with back pain, and literally has not had pain since the first night. It took me about a week to get used to the firmness but now I am sleeping soundly! There was some miscommunication with delivery, but that was no fault of Saatva but the delivery company. Saatva was sure to correct the issue immediately. I was very pleased with the way that the customer service staff handled everything. A great night sleep with plenty of room for all is much appreciated. Thank-you!
I became aware of the Saatva mattress when I happened upon the "sleepinglikealog.com" website. I read the reviews there and on the Saatva website and it sounded exactly what I was looking for. Within a few days I ordered a mattress online and found the process to be simple and forthright. I received quick order confirmation via both email and a follow-up telephone call. The mattress arrived in just over a week, and the delivery crew was excellent. I was initially apprehensive about buying such an item sight-unseen. However the mattress I ordered has proven to be as advertised, and I could not be happier with the result.
I thought I should take a moment to write my first review of my new Saatva mattress and will update it later after 6 months to a year.
We have had two different types of memory foam mattresses and were in love with them both for the first couple of months and then the proverbial valleys started to form. The first mattress was rather quick to form the valleys, the second one did admittedly take a bit longer. Moving around on these CalKing beds became impossible since the middle of the bed was substantially higher than the two valleys by about 2 inches. Backs started to hurt, shoulders started to hurt and getting a complete and good nights sleep was out of the question. Once you tried to do any kind of repositioning you were awake and felt like you were sinking into the abyss from which you could not extricate yourself. We did do quite a bit of research and the prices for just a CalKing mattress (we have a platform bed) were more than a bit out of our budget. Then we came across the Saatva website and spent a good deal of time researching Saatva, reading all of their reviews and trying to get a sense of the companies business model. Ultimately we did order their top of the line CalKing mattress and although not cheap, at $1388.00 with shipping, felt that maybe, just maybe we had found the right bed for us. Our first night was a bit uncomfortable for me (I'm a short round lady) and didn't seem to be much of an issue for my, long drink of water, husband. You do feel the movement of your spouse more than in a memory foam, but it is not unacceptable by any means. So here I am after a little over a week and must say that I am sleeping well, my back seems to be better as is the shoulder and, Oh yeah, my hip. The mattress looks well made and of good quality materials so I am reservedly looking forward to many years on this mattress. I'll be back later for an update. Hope this helps someone else.......
We purchased our Saatva mattress over a year ago now and I must admit, I was a bit leery of "buying without trying", but everything turned out fabulously, and my husband and I are both thrilled with our Saatva mattress.
We recently had to sleep on our previous mattress (which we kept and put in the "guest" bedroom) because we had new carpet installed in the master bedroom and had to move our Saatva out of the room. Ouch! my entire body hurt for two days until we got our Saatva back together. Ahhhh! Back in the Saatva again!
I have had several brands of mattress in my day, always trying to achieve the best night's sleep; Serta, Sterns and Foster, Original Matress Factory. The Stern's and Foster was the only mattress that even came remotely close to the comfort and quality of the Saatva.
Truly a fabulous luxury mattress. And being organic is the absolute icing on the cake. I have found my forever brand of mattress. Thanks Saatva!
Let me start off by saying I Love my Saatva luxury firm mattress! I've waited a year to write a review. Before we discovered Saatva we had gone through 3 mattresses in 3 years, all sank within 6-8 months. The back and neck pain we were experiencing was frustrating to say the least, not to mention the loss of sleep to add to the pain. After doing a lot of research I settled with saatva. I was looking for an organic bed that didn't have harmful chemicals, also comfort was huge. Saatva has the most amazing customer service, and after a year of owning I'm free of neck and back pain and sleeping through the night!
Saatva Plush soft is great if you are a side sleeper. it has just the right amount of softness but also good support so my hip, shoulder and neck feel comfortable all night. No chemical smell that some new beds have.
Excellent value for a very reasonable price.Highly recommended
Due to the high ratings, we decided to give it a try. The ordering process was quick and efficiant. Unfortunatly, after the first night we both woke up with lower back pain and numb buttocks. I'd never experienced lower back pain. My partner woke up with bad neck pain. She has never suffered from neck pain. In addition, after a week we noted that the mattress was showing excessive body indents. We were concerned that the longevity of the mattress would be very short. After two week I called Saaatva customer service to see if they had any suggestions. The very nice CS rep, offered to send a 2" memory foam topper. Free of charge. I wanted to like this mattress so I agreed to try the topper. I was assured it would arrive by the middle of next week. After the first week and the topper still hadn't arrived, I called Saatva again. I was assured that it would arrive shortly. I asked for a tracking number but was told that they did not yet have one and they would email it as soon as they got it. I questioned why they would't have one since UPS gives you one as soon as you initiate a shipping lable. When I didn't receive the tracking number I called again and this time I was told that the topper would ship today. I started to question the great customer service reviews. Since I was not told the truth about the topper, I decided to request a pickup of the mattress. I was afraid that waiting would result in not being able to return it. We also needed to sleep comfortably. Within15 minutes, a gentelman by the name of Richard called. He appologized for the "missunderstanding" and agreed that they had dropped the ball. He also agreed to refund the full amount minus shipping. I appreciate the quick refund and quick pickup of the mattress. Having shared my experience, I believe that the mattress is a quality mattress, and although they did drop the ball, they were quick to make it right. If this mattress works for you then it is a good value.
Their website claims that this Saatva mattress is Made of Organic Cotton and the foam used is a "bio based foam".
No one knows what that means. So I started a chat when them and was told that the was was either made from soy or corn oil.
It was also stated that no Chemical Flame Retardant is used and that the mattress is "chemical free". According to the live chat support.
I thought, wow, Organic Cotton and a "bio-based foam" mattress for under $1000? Interesting. I've had bad luck before and already lost $800 due to purchasing 2 mattress that didn't work for me.
So I went ahead and placed my order. I got a call from the delivery company and set up a 9am delivery.
Instead, they arrived at 6am and I was half asleep. Nevertheless, I got the mattress. When I cut open the bag, I noticed a distinct smell of polyurethane foam. I thought to myself, this can't be.
I looked at the label and what do you know? It's 70% Polyurethane! What a misleading sales tactic used by their site and chat support. Why not mention Polyurethane?
I chatted once again and this time, they confirmed, it was 30% corn / soy and the rest is Polyurethane.
Upon looking at their site. I noticed that they use CertiPUR foams.
CertiPUR clearly states that their unacceptable claims that are not related to the CertiPUR-US program are "soy, agri or bio-based content, Green, Safe, Non-Toxic and Sustainable".
This is the exact opposite of what we see at Saatva's website.
We can read all that here:
There is a reason why there are so many comments regarding delivery - Saatva's delivery services are poorly lacking. I realize that Saatva relies on their delivery partners however would recommend Saatva evaluate their partners and work with only those that meet/keep commitments.
I was on the verge of canceling the entire order after trying to work with Saatva and their delivery staff - the mattress itself may be good but, in hindsight, the delivery hassle's just are not worth it.
Buyer beware, although the website currently tells you only that they use a "natural thistle fire barrier with a bit of polyester", there IS something else in the fire barrier. I started having lung irritation after taking it out of the plastic and this irritation is consistent with my experiences with other mattresses where the fire barrier was an issue. It is NOT off gassing, it's not fumes, it is an odorless irritant and it doesn't go away. This is exactly what I was trying to avoid by buying this mattress. I e-mailed the company and asked if they used something else in their fire barrier. I asked about silica and I was told there "may" be silica in there and that if I was sensitive I shouldn't buy the mattress. Why not disclose this in the first place and avoid this nonsense? I also asked them about borates but recieved no response on that one. No refund, now I can't breath, coughing... Buyers beware, if you're at all sensitive let me give you the warning that the Saatva website does not give you: This mattress may cause lung irritation.
We take these false accusations very seriously. This person never bought from us. She bought a used Saatva from a thrift store. Actually, we, nor this person can attest that the used mattress she bought from the thrift store is a genuine Saatva. We have no idea what condition or even how many owners had this used mattress. We do know the factory fresh Saatva mattresses are environmentally friendly with no irritants. We wish this person the best of luck in finding her mattress source. Again, it is only appropriate that this person should state she did not buy from Saatva.
The reviews led us to hope for a quality, comfortable, reasonably priced mattress without the salesperson blather. Initial quality was very good. Comfortable, apparently well made unit. Delivery was messed up/damage but customer service $adjusted for us. Unfortunately the body depressions grew rapidly and became uncomfortable. We come in at 195 and 135 lbs. so no mitigating circumstances. Now my wife (the 135 lb.) complains of discomfort in the "gully". Even not so heavy areas as knees generate a good depression area. I submitted a review on the Saatva website but it was intercepted and not published. So here I am to advise the other side to all the great initial reviews.
We are very sorry and concerned as to this customer's comments about his Saatva. We spoke with the customer back in late February when he wrote his initial comments. We gave a partial refund and the customer posted a very positive review of the situation. However, at this point, we know this to be a defective mattress as the customer's description in this review speaks only of a rare time that a Saatva mattress is built defectively. We called the customer last week, left a message for him to return the call as our intention is to quickly remove the mattress and give the customer every nickel of the remaining monies he paid to Saatva. The customer has yet to contact us. We look forward to resolving this issue as fast as possible. Our apology to this customer for receiving what we now know to be a defective Saatva mattress.
Note: The product line specifications above were derived from the active Saatva models listed on GoodBed. As a result, these details may not be comprehensive and may not apply to all Saatva models. If you are seeking specifications for a particular Saatva mattress, please search for that mattress by name on GoodBed, or check with your local Saatva dealer.
