The Mariela is available in various comfort levels- some firm, and some soft. Whether you experience the soft Mariela as softer than the Alcove will depend greatly upon your weight and sleep position. The Mariela does have a firmer support system and a denser foam in the comfort layer, so that may make it feel a bit firmer. Good luck!
