Hi there -- This is a curious case where in our testing, the Soft version actually felt firmer than the Firm version. Given the fact that our softness scale is standardized across all brands and types, and manufacturers are not at all standardized in their softness ratings, it's not at all uncommon for our softness ratings to be different than the stated softness from the manufacturer. However, it is uncommon for the mattresses to be out of order, as they are in this case. While we do think it's possible that the Soft version will soften up more so than the Firm, we can't say this with certainty. I'd recommend watching our review of the Sealy Posturepedic Plus High Point for more detail. Also, FWIW, if you go to the YouTube page for that video, you'll see that several of our readers commented that their assessments of these models concur with ours. I hope that's helpful.

Yes, the Sealy Posturepedic Plus High Point Soft ("Ultimate Support + Cooling" Hybrid) mattress is adjustable base compatible. This means it is designed to be used on an adjustable base without incurring damage or voiding the warranty. In our review of this mattress, we tested it on an adjustable base to look for any adverse effects as the head and foot are elevated, and to see how well it conforms to the contours of the base both with and without the weight of a sleeper. Overall, we found the High Point Soft ("Ultimate Support + Cooling" Hybrid) to have adjustable base compatibility.
