Firm or extra firm mattresses tend to create more problems then they address. This will likely not help with any back pain, but add to it as it will probably not contour to your body to offer any real support. It will also likely cause pressure point pain in the shoulders and hips. Firmer mattresses are not better for back problems. You want a mattresses that has a some form of topper to allow pressure point relief. The only real way to know if this mattress is the right one for you, is to lay down on it.
