This is our overview of the three mattresses in the current DreamCloud Foam line of luxury beds. Also see our overview of the DreamCloud Hybrid models, which instead have a pocket-spring support unit.
DreamCloud Mattresses: Shared Features
The three mattresses in the DreamCloud collection all share a similar construction: A variety of foam (including some memory foam) on top of a 9" support block made of firmer foam. The position and amount of the comfort foams varies by model, but all use the same support foam.
These all-foam models are new for DreamCloud. They are sister models to the company's DreamCloud Hybrid mattresses which are made using the similar comfort foam configurations, but instead of a pocket-spring unit have a block of support foam.
Hybrid or Foam?
Trying to decide between the hybrid or foam version of the DreamCloud? The main difference is bounce. The hybrid versions have a more traditional and bouncy feel. The foam versions do not as the foam absorbs almost all movement.
The DreamCloud mattresses all have the same navy-and-white color scheme, with navy side panels that include sturdy, functional handles. The fabric blend includes some cashmere; wool is a heat regulating material that helps keep you cooler in summer and warmer in winter.
Here's a look at the features shared by all three models.
Foam support units
Each of the three mattresses uses the same support base: A 9" block of very firm polyurethane foam. This is a really firm foam; so firm that it makes a very stable edge, which is very unusual among all-foam mattresses.
Memory foam
The three mattresses use between 1" and 2" of memory foam at its comfort material.
Memory foam is known for its slow, melting-into-the-mattress feeling, where the foam compresses beneath your body as you warm up the foam. Some memory foams are especially "slow" meaning they really sink in and conform to your body. Other memory foams are "fast" and spring back into shape quickly, not giving you as much of the melting feeling.
DreamCloud really isn't using a huge amount memory foam in these models, so you really don't get that deep, melting-into-the-bed feeling. You do get a little more with the Premier and the Premier Rest since there's more of it. But overall, these mattresses do not have that much memory feel.
Quilted covers
The three mattresses have similar covers, all using the same navy-and-white color scheme. All three have a quilted cover that's made with cashmere fibers and memory foam quilted into the underside. All have a sturdy tape edge all the way around the sides and feature functional handles to help you move the mattress.
Adjustable base compatibility
It's safe to use any of these beds on an adjustable base. We have reviewed the base sold by DreamCloud, but any supportive adjustable base should work just fine.
365-night trial and lifetime warranty
The mattresses also share a very long 365-night trial period, along with the company's lifetime warranty, which means that the original owner is covered for any warranty issues for the lifetime of ownership. The company does request that you try the mattress for 30 days prior to initiating a return, to give your body a chance to get used to the bed.
One of the biggest, if not THE biggest complaints about any mattress from consumers regards body impressions—the inability of a mattress to spring back, eventually creating a low spot/sinkhole in the mattress. As such, mattress warranties all contain a term defining how big a sag or ‘body impression’ (measured when no one is on the mattress) is considered a defect, and thus covered under the warranty. The industry standard for hybrid mattresses is 1.5”, and that's what DreamCloud includes. Practically speaking, that means any softening or sagging would need to be very deep and noticeable before the warranty would offer you protection.
Note that beyond 10 years, you'll be responsible for a $50 shipping charge each way, which will be refunded if your warranty claim is deemed valid.
Now let's take a look at how the three DreamCloud Foam mattresses differ.
DreamCloud Foam Mattress
The entry-level DreamCloud Foam mattress measures 12" in height and features a quilted tight-top cover along with navy side panels.
About 1" of gel memory foam is quilted right into the cover, giving it that lofty look. Under the quilt is a 1" layer of gel memory foam, followed by 1" of soft gel foam. All of that tops the same 9" support foam shared by the other mattresses in the line.
On our scale, we call this mattress a Medium Firm. You really don't sink very deeply into the bed, but because of the deeply quilted top, you do get a little feeling that the mattress conforms around your body. Overall, we would say this gives you a blend of feeling like you are sleeping on top of your mattress as well as sinking into it. But overall, you don't sink in as deeply as with an average mattress.
With just an inch of memory foam sandwiched between other foams, you really don't get any of that melting-into-the-bed feeling.
Edge support is excellent, and that's very unusual for an all-foam mattress.

DreamCloud Foam Premier
The DreamCloud Premier is 13' tall; it features the same cover and the same 9" support block of foam.
For the Premier, DreamCloud gives you an extra 1/2" of memory foam, and an extra 1/2" of gel foam. The net effect is a mattress that feels a little softer and has just a little bit more memory feel than the standard DreamCloud Foam mattress. However, we still rate it as a Medium Firm overall on our scale.
Edge support isn't quite as good, but it's still very good for a foam bed. With slightly deeper than average cushioning, you also get a little more pressure relief, which is especially helpful for side sleepers.
DreamCloud Foam Premier Rest
The Foam Premier Rest is a 14" mattress, with a pillow top. As with the DreamCloud Foam Premier, some memory foam is quilted right into the cashmere-blend cover.
Under that you'll find 2" of gel memory foam plus another 2" of standard polyurethane foam. In terms of feel, this one is the softest of the three. We rate it a Medium on our scale. It also has more memory foam, and you do feel it a little more. Overall you sink in a bit more too.
Since there's more softer foam on top, we found edge support to be not quite as good as the others, but still good. Motion isolation is excellent.
The main difference is that pillowtop design, and 16" height, which is very tall for a mattress.
Other Factors to Consider

DreamCloud includes free delivery, which is not particularly unusual among its competitors.
A white-glove service is available at additional cost ($149) that includes in-room setup and removal of the packaging. Note that there is a $150 shipping charge to Alaska and Hawaii.
Returns
- 365-day trial period
- Full refund, including free pickup within trial period
DreamCloud includes a 365-day trial period, with full refund should you decide to return the mattress. The company does ask that you try the mattress for 30 days prior to initiating a return.
Warranty
- Warranty Length: Lifetime
- Indentation Coverage: 1.5” and above
One of the biggest, if not THE biggest complaints about any mattress from consumers regards body impressions — the inability of a mattress to spring back, eventually creating a low spot/sinkhole in the mattress. As such, mattress warranties all contain a term defining how big a sag or ‘body impression’ (measured when no one is on the mattress) is considered a defect, and thus covered under the warranty. The industry standard for mattresses is generally between ¾” and 1.5”. DreamCloud has chosen to cover indentations that meet or exceed 1.5”. Practically speaking, that means any softening or sagging would need to be at least that deep before the warranty would offer you protection.
For the first 10 years of ownership, the company will replace your mattress with a new one if you have a valid warranty claim. After 10 years, the company will repair or replace the bed, at their discretion, and consumers must pay shipping both ways ($50 each way). If the warranty claim is valid, the shipping fees will be refunded.
