Hi there -- Thanks for your question. Yes, all foams will soften at least a small amount over time. This is particularly evident when comparing a brand new mattress to one that has been on display for 6-12 months in a showroom. The other thing to keep in mind is the temperature of the room you're in. All memory foam is temperature sensitive, which means it will feel much firmer in cooler conditions than it does in warmer conditions. So if your bedroom today is warmer than the showroom was when you tried it, that could explain the difference as well. I hope that's helpful.
