My ancestors lived in the village of Ostermoor near Brunsbüttel from 1810 to 1920 - Johannes Brahms' ancestors also lived there.

Hi Peter -- IIRC the Ostermoor brand is owned by the same family that owns Gold Bond Mattress:

I believe the owners of Verlo Mattress Factory (https://www.goodbed.com/mattresses/verlo-mattress-factory/) were also connected to this brand at one time as well.

I hope that's helpful.

Thanks for the quick response. My question put differently. Eastermoor is the name for a small place that was known around 1550.It's two words: Easter and moor. Located directly on the river Elbe to the North Sea. Here a boggy landscape with the name the high moor rose. Later "the moor to the east". This small island was part of the southernmost coast of the Kingdom of Denmark until 1864.
Since 1815, even earlier, families from the area, including those from Easter Bog, have emigrated to North America. Example: Some of the FEIL family have lived in Wisconsin. How did it come to the name Ostermoor? What is the connection between the name and a high quality matrass. Okay, on the moor you walk or lie softly...

Did the Feil or other families romanticize their home so much? Located directly on the river Elbe to the North Sea. Here a boggy landscape with the name the high moor rose. Later "the moor to the east". This small island was part of the southernmost coast of the Kingdom of Denmark until 1864.

Hi Peter -- I'm afraid if you want to better understand the origins of the name you'll have to ask those folks I mentioned above. They might have a sense of the history behind it. Sorry I can't be of more help on this one.
