Hi, Tempurs do take some getting used to. It took me a few months to find my "sweet spot" for my thermostat so that I could sleep comfortably without waking up hot. I turn the thermostat down to 69 degrees and haven't woken up sweating since I did that, years ago. It sounds like that would use more energy and surely it will during the summer but during the winter you don't have to turn the heat up as much so it evens out, energy use wise. If it makes you sleep better then it is worth the temperature difference, if not then I would try something different. You could also try the Flex Supreme Breeze.
