I'm looking at a posh luxe model king bed. Will there be an off gassing period for the foam on top of the latex? If so, what can I expect?

For most people, the new mattress smell goes away in a couple days. That said, some people are more sensitive then others and it may be one week. Rarely, but occasionally, it is one month. Our mattresses are made primarily out of latex, wool, and cotton and our components are Oeko-tex Class 100 certified which means they have been tested by a third party laboratory for strict limits on formaldehyde, antimony, arsenic, lead, cadmium, chlorinated phenols, phyhalates, toluene, styrene, butadiene, organic volatiles, vinylcychohexene, and asbestos. Here are some tips to help make the new mattress smell/off-gassing go away faster:

I sold a POSH & LAVISH to a couple, which she is very sensitive and she said she waited 12 hours to let it out gas and she was very satisfied with it after 12 hours. STEVE |
I own Reveal, which is a 11" pure latex and it took me about 6 months not to notice latex smell so much. I have a sensitive nose and I can still smell it as of today, but off-gassing and smell are totally different thing. Knowing that it does not use harmful chemicals, it has not bothered me much. It takes time to have the smell go away, but I'd take this in a heart beat rather than those made with chemicals. |
