I'm looking for opinions about the Serta Tranquil mattress.

I am about to purchase a Serta Tranquil King pillow top. I know this is a subjective question, but do you think this a good buy, or would I be better off spending an additional $500 for a better mattress?

That is a fairly "loaded" question, as you put it. Your mattress is the most important piece of furniture in your home (except maybe the refrigerator, hehe). If the Serta Tranquil (never heard of this particular model) feels comfortable to you, then by all means get it. If you have another mattress in mind that feels better to you and is only $500 more, you might want to seriously consider upgrading to the other mattress. Ask the salesman at whatever store you're at what the differences are between the two. Find out all of the features and benefits of those differences. Then you'll be armed with the knowledge to make that decision without any regrets. Ask yourself, is the other mattress worth $500 more to you, either by feeling better, or maybe being of a better quality so it might last longer? I hope this helps, and have a great day!
