Absolutely you can, and you should! Keeping your mattress protected is a necessity to maintain your warranty.

Hi Barbara, A mattress protector is always recommended for any mattress, adjustable or not. There is an important distinction between mattress protector and mattress pad. Mattress protectors are thin fabrics which don't add comfort in most cases. These are water-proof and don't allow moisture into the mattress. Mattress pads are padded tops with 2" or so of fiber filling material depending on the brand. They are usually water resistant and not waterproof. Waterproof means moisture will still get through and you will get molds, mildews, and other allergens inside the mattress. The best kind of protectors usually don't fully encase the entire mattress. They have a protective surface that covers the top and the rest surrounds the mattress like a fitted sheet. Most of the nicer ones won't make any noise or cause any heat issues. We use platinum mattress protectors from Southern Textiles and they work great for our Tempur-Pedic customers. |
Barbara, I found that my REM martinique mattress was more firm and less conforming with a mattress protector. This brand is heat sensitive to break in. My husband keep his on, (split king) as he does not mind a firm mattress. I may put my back on, but found it more conforming and soft without. |
