Hi there -- Thanks for your question. The iComfort ECO Q10 is certainly firmer than any WinkBed Luxury Firm that we've tested. The Q15GL Plush would indeed be much closer to the WinkBed Luxury Firm. As you noted, we do have this as a true Medium on our softness spectrum, and it is actually to the firmer end of this classification. As for how soon either of these will lose their firmness, this is pretty hard to say. But even if/when it does (all mattresses do eventually), I doubt it will do so in a way that you find appealing, since most mattresses sag in a way that reduces their support and/or pressure relief characteristics. So IMHO it doesn't seem like a great approach to choose a mattress with a plan for it to sag to your desired level of comfort / support. That said, you can plan for a little softening by buying a mattress that is slightly firmer than you might like but that you'd still feel really good about even if it never changed. I hope that's helpful.

Hi Mike -- It sounds like it was the compression of the quilt layer that frustrated you in the case of the WinkBed. This is a pretty common thing to happen with quilt layers, since quilt foam tends to be softer and lower density than other foams used in a mattress. So you might want to consider looking at the Smooth Hybrid portion of the iComfortECO line as well. Here are a couple with a Medium feel on our spectrum:
In addition, if avoiding indentations and maintaining a consistent feel over time are a priority, latex is a comfort material that has perhaps the best track record of resisting this type of thing. Both of the iComfortECO Smooth Hybrids I listed above include 1" of latex, which is great. However, if you wanted to go with a mattress that uses only latex in its comfort layers (and has a smooth top), here are some other options:
If you're looking for a true Medium on our spectrum, here is one that does have a thin quilt layer, but it is a wool quilt rather than foam:
I hope that's helpful. |

Hi Goodbed Team, First off - thanks very much for getting back to me - much appreciated. That's good to know that you agree with my assessment as well .. that the Q10 Medium is much more of a firm than a Medium .. and it's been another week and both my wife and I are waking up with hip and even shoulder pain. So, I do plan to try out the Q15GL once I can find a location that carries one .. Since you are the experts, I do have to ask if are there any other hybrid mattresses that I should consider. The past 10 years, I started with a Queen Serta iSeries Eloquent Dream (why I am trying the iComfortEco now) and then transitioned to a King WinkBed Lux Firm in 2020 during the pandemic. I was excited to give the bed-in-a-box a go, and the WinkBed seemed like a good fit .. and through the first year, it really was a nice bed. Unfortunately, I just found that the fluffy pillow-top really started to indent at the shoulder and hip areas (0.5 - 0.8 inches). Changing positions on the WinkBed throughout the night became annoying since the feel changed rather abruptly. So here I am now, trying to replace the Eloquent Dream in a King Size, since we slept (and still have) on that mattress for nearly 8 years .. with the revamped iComfortEco lineup. And so far, I have been unsuccessful with the Q10 Medium .. so besides trying out the Q15GL, any others worth considering? Cheers, Mike p.s. thank you for replying to my youtube question as well, mjh2165 |

Thanks again for the insight (helpful indeed) - I will surely try the smooth hybrid versions you suggested as well .. do you think that the Q15GL will tend to feel non-uniform as the WinkBed began to feel after 1yr in? Just curious, regarding our old Serta Eloquent Dream .. how would you rate its firmness to Serta's new offerings? I also don't see any significant sign nor feel any indentation across that mattress. -Mike |

and if the other icomforteco models don't pan out .. I will certainly look into the helpful alternatives as well .. thanks again |
