POCKET COIL COUNT and STEEL GAUGE

How many pocket coils should a queen size mattress have? I know that the coil steel gauge runs from 9 to 17. Noa quoted 2 mm. What does that mean? Silk and Snow hybrid and Endy hybrid seen to be very good quality. Any comments or could you explain the pros and the cons between the 2? Noa couldn't tell me if the coils were tempered steel.
