Hi there -- Thanks for your question. If what you are talking about is the result of body impressions on each side of the mattress, this is a pretty normal sign of wear on a mattress. However, if you are talking about a bubble that actually has air under it, this is something different. This can sometimes happen when a mattress is stored on end for a while. Likewise, it's possible for something in the upholstery layers to get folded under when the mattress is in a vertical position during moving. Beyond that, the only other possibility I can think of is that the quilt layer is not sized perfectly to the mattress. Quilt layers are stitched to the mattress on all four sides and have some stiffness and bulk on account of the foam or other material that is quilted into them, so extra fabric in this layer can't just fold over itself. So if the area of quilt layer is larger than is needed to cover the top surface of the mattress, then the excess quilt would bubble up. I hope that's helpful.

The mattress is only a few years old and has never been stored. It gets turned periodically. Not over because it can't be flipped. It can be kneaded out somewhat but always comes back. I don't know. We just go with it! |
Hmm, in that case it could be a combination of my first explanation (emerging body impressions) and my last explanation (a quilt that is just a tiny bit mis-sized). Either way, glad you aren’t letting it get you down! |
