Hi there -- Thanks for your question. I can't speak to any specific changes that have or have not been made to this particular model. However, I can speak to this question more broadly. First, all-foam mattresses have been compressed for shipping for 15 years now, and while there can be some correlation between lower-quality mattresses and the compressed shipping method, we have seen no sign of any causation. Put differently, we have not found that compression itself has any material impact on the quality or longevity of an all-foam mattress. Compression of spring mattresses is more recent, so there is only about 5 years of experience with this, which is not long enough to have empirical data on the longevity impacts of compression on spring mattresses. That said, FWIW, we have not seen any early signs of durability impact, so my supposition would be that compression will not generally affect the longevity prospects of an innerspring mattress either. I hope that's helpful.

Yes, the Charles P. Rogers Estate 5000 Plus mattress is adjustable base compatible. This means it is designed to be used on an adjustable base without incurring damage or voiding the warranty. In our review of this mattress, we tested it on an adjustable base to look for any adverse effects as the head and foot are elevated, and to see how well it conforms to the contours of the base both with and without the weight of a sleeper. Overall, we found the Estate 5000 Plus to have adjustable base compatibility.
