Hi there -- Thanks for your question. Wow, that's a pretty bold move! I guess you bought some TwinXL covers to re-cover the remains? As for the rotation, rotating a Cal King mattress from head to foot is fine, and is no different than rotating a Twin XL from head to foot, so rotating your homemade Twin XL's head to foot should be fine as well.
