Does this mattress need a box spring or platform bed?

This bed has zero firmness. It isn’t even that is soft, it’s that when I lay down on it, the entire bed gets depressed by about 8 inches. I weigh 150 pounds. I feel like if I were to put any pressure on the bed (like jumping) I’d break the slats underneath.

So, does it require a box spring? That’s the only thing I can think of that could explain this issue, but it doesn’t say it requires one.
