Firm at first?

We just received our Wondrous mattress and slept on it for the first time last night. I'm not sure if we got the wrong one or what is going on, but it is very FIRM. Is it normal to be very firm the first night while it is still "relaxing" from being shipped...even though it isn't really packed tightly in the plastic? Last night was really uncomfortable so I hope it is normal to be firm the first night. If not, it may have to go back!
