Which Spink and Edgar would be a better choice - the Alpaca 7000 or the Angora 9000 for a side sleeper with sleep apnea (using a CPAP machine), lower back issues, and rheumatoid arthritis? We’ve had a Beauty Rest firm and sleep number and not a fan of either. I want a Spink and Edgar, just not sure which one. I love the way the Spink and Edgar is constructed and the fact that there is no offensive odor in the mattress. The salesman insists the 9000 would be best for my problems, but the 7000 seems more plush.

We actually decided on the cashmere because of the added plushness. This was not available on the showroom floor the first time we went into the store. We also got the adjustable frame. Although the mattress was expensive, we feel it was worth every penny because it is so comfortable and we’ve been sleeping great right from the first night it was delivered.

Debby, we originally bought the angora, but exchanged it for the 1700 cashmere with a plush feeling. The angora was too firm and we woke,as you seem to, every day with back pain and aches. While the cashmere was more expensive, and you are right, it is VERY heavy to turn, it takes both of us turn it, it is very comfortable for us. Other than it being so heavy, we are very pleased with the cashmere. We both sleep through the night and wake with no aches or pains. And that is something because I have both rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis and am a side sleeper. My husband is also a side sleeper. We, personally, are very pleased with our purchase, although it is too soon for us to know how it will hold up over time.

Hey there Roseann and sorry for the delay on the response, for some reason this question got caught up in the system. Both beds are really great and will support your body in the right way, it really is up to you in terms of which one feels the best! If you like the Alpaca comfort more then get that one. If you have apnea you might also consider an adjustable bed base with your mattress as I hear they help that issue. (Spink and Edgar also work incredibly well with those types of moving bases.) Hope this helps!

We bought our bed around a year ago. Both my husband and I wake with back pain every morning. We both sleet towards our side of the bed and there is a huge lump in the middle and sides are concave.

I wish someone could help us. We are miserable every morning. Purchased at Jordan Furniture

To heavy to lift and turn.

Debby, very sorry to hear you are having this trouble! Please just call Jordan' Furniture, they are great at taking care of their customers, and will send a sleep tech out to see if you have a defect and if so, will get you a new bed to sleep on. We don't want you to wake up in pain that's for sure.
