Hi there -- Thanks for your question. Overall, there really are no universal answers when it comes to mattresses, since everyone has their own unique set of needs and preferences that will make any given mattress a much better match for some people than others. That said, the biggest advantage of a two-sided mattress is that because it can be flipped to even the wear on both sides, it will tend to be more resistant to body impressions and the like. This means that it should last longer before becoming uncomfortable or unsupportive. The biggest disadvantage is that because it needs to have padding on both the top and bottom (basically the top half is a mirror image of the bottom half), its sleep surfaces tend to have less padding than on a one-sided mattress. This means that it might not be as comfortable for you when new as a one-sided mattress would be. I hope that's helpful.
