Hi there -- Yes, this mattress was definitely made with coils. But because the coils would have been pocketed coils, you should be OK using this on an adjustable base. The only problem you could encounter (but may not) is a slight bowing out of the edge support foam on the sides of the mattress at the point where the flexing occurs.
