I noticed that many mattress brands offer both a lower, thinner box spring that is 4-5 inches and a taller, higher option that is 8-9 inches tall. Aesthetically, I like the look of a bed with a box spring, but my husband doesn’t. I guess a low-profile foundation would be a good compromise between my preferences and his, but how do you dress a 4 inch box spring???

The low profile foundations I am familiar with are in the 5 to 5 1/2" range. A 4" is more of a custom height. There are textile vendors who make dust ruffles for low profiles but the drop will also depend ont the bed you are putting it on.
