Hi, The gel is of no consequence. However, you will always find gel mixed with memory foam. There are tons of complaints about the off-gassing of the toxic chemicals that are used in memory foam. If you would like an all natural product, latex is a natural product with no toxic chemicals used. The latex allergies you hear about are from gloves and bandages. When latex is processed into the foam used for mattresses, the allergen, the protein, is removed.
