Hello, I was at my local furniture store, Furniture Fair here in Cincinnati, Ohio. The saleswoman said adjustable bed bases help with back pain. Has anyone experienced this?

Hi there -- Thanks for your question. Adjustable bases certainly can help with back pain, but they are not a panacea for all types of back pain. The answer in your case will depend in part on the source of your back pain. For example, if you are getting improper spinal alignment from your mattress, sleeping in certain elevated positions on an adjustable base can help with that -- but only if you are comfortable sleeping on your back, since an elevated base doesn't work for side or stomach sleeping. More pertinently, if your back pain stems more from strains or injury (ie, things that happened while you were awake), then lying in various positions on an adjustable base (eg, zero G, elevated legs, etc.) can offer large amounts relief.

I hope that's helpful.
