Sealy Posturepedic Plus Memory Foam Mattresses
The Plus collection was introduced in late 2020, and continue as part of the 2021 and 2022 Sealy lineup. They replace and represent an expansion of the previous Posturepedic Response Premium collection from 2017.
The Posturepedic Plus collections includes three series: a line of 10 innerspring mattresses (discussed here) plus a lineup of four memory foam mattresses and another four hybrid mattresses.
It's worth noting that the memory foam mattresses and the hybrid mattresses in this collection use the same names. For example, there is an Albany Firm in the memory foam series, and an Albany Medium in the hybrid series. There's a Highpoint Ultra Soft in the memory foam series, along with a corresponding Highpoint Firm and a Highpoint Soft in the hybrid series.
Here, we are looking at the four all-foam, memory foam mattresses, which have most of the same features. Differences in individual models come down to feel and how much "sink" -- what we call cushioning depth -- you can expect with each.
If you want to try one of these mattresses for yourself, see the Sealy store locator to find a local retailer.

All-Foam Construction
All of the Sealy Posturepedic Plus memory foam mattresses feature all-foam construction, so you won't find any springs here. As with most mattresses of this time, there's no bounce at all; rather the foam dampens movement. If you are used to a traditional mattress that has a good bit of bounce, these may not be your cup of tea. If, however, you like your mattress to absorb motion, these mattresses do that.
Instead of springs at the base of the bed, all have a block of polyurethane foam measuring between 6" and 8".
Memory Foam
All four of these Sealy mattresses have a minimum of 4 total inches of memory foam in the top two layers. The memory foam closest to the body is Sealy's ComfortSense memory, foam, the company's highest-quality foam. In each mattress, there's at least 2" of the ComfortSense foam.
Adjustable Base Compatibility
All of the Posturepedic Plus memory foam mattresses are compatible with adjustable bases.
Mattress Covers
And finally, all models in the Plus memory foam collection feature cooling high-density polyethylene fibers in the covers. These are special fibers woven into the the cover that can give it a subtle cool-to-the-touch property.
The covers are all the same charcoal color, which helps distinguish them from the innerspring mattresses in the Posturepedic Plus collection. The covers are very stretchy--made to stretch and conform to your body as the memory foam warms and collapses beneath you.
The covers also feature Sealy's SurfaceGuard, an anti-microbial treatment intended to repel bacteria.

Sealy Posturepedic Plus Foam Albany Firm and Soft
The Albany Firm and Soft are both 13" mattresses. The Firm version features 2" of Sealy's ComfortSense Memory Foam plus another 2" of a firmer memory foam, while the Soft version has 4" of the ComfortSense foam.
While Sealy calls these "Firm" and "Soft", we found there to be less difference between the two than the name suggests. While we did find the Firm model to also be a Firm on our scale, the Soft version is much firmer than you might expect from something called "soft." We judged it a Medium Firm on our softness scale.
The ComfortSense foam is a slow-responding memory foam, meaning it takes a minute or two for the memory foam to warm and fully 'sink' with your body. The Firm version's softness comes from that top 2" layer of foam, while the firmer foam below keeps you from getting a squishy/gooey feeling. You do sink into this mattress more than you might expect from a firm mattress, however.
We found this mattress to have a lot more surface firmness than the other mattresses in this series, so even though Sealy calls it a Medium, we found it to be the firmest mattress when compared to the Albany Firm/Soft and Highpoint Ultra Soft.
You still sink into the mattress more deeply than average, but it takes a while for your body to warm up the memory foam and reach that full conformance depth.

Sealy Posturepedic Plus Foam Highpoint Ultra Soft
The top end of the Plus foam series is the Highpoint Ultra Soft (Firm and Soft versions are available as hybrids). This mattress has more memory foam -- a total of 5.5" ComfortSense Memory Foam -- and also adds two additional cooling features.
While the softest in the Posturepedic Foam collection, this mattress is still quite firm in our perception; we judge it a Medium Firm, and pretty close to a Medium on our scale. It does have the most cushioning depth -- so you do sink in more deeply on this mattress than you do the others in the series, giving you more of that ooey-gooey memory foam experience. But there's still lots of firm support coming from below.
Sealy adds two cooling features for the Highpoint. First, the cover includes a larger percentage of those high-density cooling polyethylene fibers compared to the Albany and the Brenham. And Sealy also adds a phase-change treatment to the top of the ComfortSense foam. This is a layer of what could be described as tiny wax beads that stay cool until your body warms them up. The intention is to keep you cooler while you fall asleep.
