Hybrid Infinity Cool Mattress: Features
Hybrid Infinity is a new mattress brand notable for its pocketed coil support unit, which uses some of the strongest steel wire we've seen used in mattress coils. That doesn't mean these beds are super firm; rather it means they may prove to be extra durable.
Heavy-duty coil unit
Mattress coils are made from steel wire that's twisted into a coil shape. Manufacturers choose the thickness of the wire; in mattresses, typically that 'coil gauge' ranges from 12 to 16, with 12 being heavier/thicker and 16 being thinner and more springy.
If you imagine springs being compressed for 8 hours every day, you can also see how incrementally they lose their ability to spring back. This eventual degradation, which happens over the course of the years, can change the way your mattress feels, and can change it's ability to provide adequate back support. This whole equation is also affected by the weight of the sleeper or sleepers. Applying more weight to a coil repeatedly will cause it to lose its spring more quickly.
Hybrid Infinity has chosen to use just about the strongest coils we've seen in a hybrid mattress, with a coil gauge of 11.5 on their Firm model, and 12.5 on their other two mattresses. While it's too soon to know whether the entire mattress will last longer than others, we do think that for those concerned with mattress longevity, especially heavier persons, the Hybrid Infinity Cool may be worth a look.
On top of the coil unit, each of the three Hybrid Infinity Cool mattresses uses a combination of gel memory foam and standard polyurethane foam, and a foam edge support around the perimeter of the bed.

Cooling cover
The three mattresses in the collection share a cooling cover (but sport different quilting patterns/designs). The cover is treated with phase-change material, which makes them feel cool to the touch. The idea behind phase change treatments to textiles is to keep you cooler while you fall asleep.
The cover also sports dark blue side panels, a sturdy-feeling corded edge, and heavy-duty functional handles.
Warranty and body impression coverage
At GoodBed, we think a warranty is only as good as what's covered, and what's not. In the case of the Hybrid Infinity, it's a lifetime warranty -- meaning defects are warranted as long as the original owner owns the bed. A few competing brands also offer lifetime warranties, but most of them are pro-rated, meaning that beyond the initial 5 years or so, you'd only be entitled to a portion of the mattress cost based on years of ownership. The Hybrid Infinity mattress' warranty is non-prorated -- meaning that if a covered issue arises under warranty even after 20 or 25 years, the entire replacement cost is covered.
One of the biggest, if not THE biggest complaints about any mattress from consumers regards body impressions — the inability of a mattress to spring back, eventually creating a low spot/sinkhole in the mattress. As such, mattress warranties all contain a term defining how big a sag or ‘body impression’ (measured when no one is on the mattress) is considered a defect, and thus covered under the warranty. The industry standard for hybrid and innerspring mattresses is 1.5”. But Hybrid Infinity has chosen to cover indentations that meet or exceed a mere 3/4” -- that's just about the smallest we've seen.
Combined with the lifetime non-prorated warranty, that means that even after 20 or 30 years, if your mattress develops a body impression greater than 3/4" you would be entitled to repair or replacement of the mattress at no cost.
Hybrid Infinity Cool: Models
There are three models in the series. They differ in softness, mattress height, and of course price.
Model | Mattress Height | GoodBed Softness Rating | Price (Queen) |
Hybrid Infinity Cool Firm | 10" | Firm | $850 |
Hybrid Infinity Cool Standard | 12" | Medium Firm | $1,200 |
Hybrid Infinity Cool Luxury | 13" | Medium | $1,500 |
Hybrid Infinity Cool Firm
We felt this bed was an example in contrasts: While the support and overall feel of the bed is indeed firm -- and we could feel the very firm 11.5-gauge coils below when we pressed down into the bed with our fists -- the gel memory foam up top is very soft and pliable. If you are a person that wants or needs a firm bed, but likes some softness and squishiness on top, this mattress has it.
We thought this bed would suit back sleepers of all weights, plus lighter weight (under 150 lbs. or so) side sleepers, with good pressure relief from the 2 inches of 3-lb. memory foam.
This is a 10" tall mattress; the shortest of the group.

Hybrid Infinity Cool Standard
The Standard version of the Hybrid Infinity is similar to the Firm version, but the coil gauge isn't quite as stiff (12.5 rather than 11.5), and with an extra 1/2" of gel memory foam on top.
We felt the mattress had slightly more cushioning depth (meaning you sink in slightly more) compared to the Firm version, but this still isn't a mattress where you'll get that deep cradled/hugged sensation. On our scale, we call it a 'medium firm.'
The Standard version of this bed is 12" tall.

Hybrid Infinity Cool Luxury
At the top end of the series, the Luxury version measures 13" tall, and has 3" of gel memory foam, and we class it a Medium on our scale. It definitely has a little more cushioning than the other two, and you notice more of a delayed response from the memory foam.
All three of these beds have some deep bounce owning to the pocketed coil unit. We also tested edge support on the Luxury version and found it to be excellent both sitting and laying right on the edge.
We thought this version would suit side sleepers on the lighter end of the weight scale (under maybe 200 lbs.), and think that with the firm support coils, would still be a good choice for heavier back and stomach sleepers too.

Other Factors
Delivery and Returns
- Free delivery
- 365-day trial period with free exchange
Warranty
- Lifetime, non pro-rated
- 3/4" body impression warranty
The Hybrid Infinity warranty is good for as long as you own the mattress, and is not pro-rated, meaning that if your mattress qualifies for replacement under the warranty, even after 20 or 30 years, replacement or repair is free.
The mattress is also warranted against the formation of permanent body impressions greater than 3/4" -- that's more favorable than the standard 1.5" body impression warranty that's the industry standard for innerspring and pocketed coil beds.
