Why has the Sealy Posterepedic Spring Tree been discontinued?

I just recently purchased a Sealy Posturepedic Springtree Lane Queen mattress and have discovered this model has been discontinued. Is there a problem with this product?

Hello and thank you for your question!

Sealy releases new mattresses every year. So, you shouldn't be worried that your particular type of mattress has been discontinued. This is very common in the mattress industry to come out with new updated brands & models each year. It is usually done in the 1st quarter of the year.

Sealy last changed their Posturepedic line in June of 2011. If you recently purchased a Posturpedic from the older line...prior to June of 2011, you could have purchased a used mattress...or worse, a defective mattress that was returned to the factory and later sold as savage bedding the any one of the many mattress clearance centers across the country. Check to see if the white "Law" label is sewn into one of the seams at the rear of the mattress. If that label is missing, then you most likely bought a factory return. If that label is there, it will show the date it was made...the date of manufacture.
