We purchased bunk beds with 6" memory twin & full memory foam mattresses. The slats are 9" apart & after assembling and letting the mattresses breathe for 48hrs we read that only a coil mattress should be used. Would it be safe to add extra slats or put a piece of wood down or do I need to buy new mattresses? I'm not sure if these can be returned because we opened them already. Thanks for your help!!
