Can an iSeries mattress be flipped?

Can a Serta iSeries hybrid mattress be flipped?

Unfortunately, even with maximum protection ( high quality mattress protector), good foundation and support, and rotation (not flipped), the i Comfort Genius mattress that we purchased in April 2014 is not sleep worthy and has "craters" that have our body impressions. It has not lived up to the expectations. It is very frustrating to be in the position to mattress shop so soon.

No. There are currently no two-sided iSeries models available, nor have there been any in the past according to our data.

While this mattress is made to be one sided, the underside is usable....and firmer. Many of my customers, in order to salvage the money spent on a bad mattress, will flip their one sided mattresses over and add an all-natural Talalay latex mattress topper. Unlike the memory foam on the topside of your mattress, latex sleeps cool and is a whole lot more resilient.

iSeries mattress are not bad mattresses, they are amongst the best available today. Just ask the unbiased Consumer Reports organization. GoodBed Help answered your question correctly - iSeries mattresses are one-sided and are not designed to be used on the bottom side.

Long story short, Genius bad, iSeries old technology, iComfort Hybrids Good.

I am having the very same problem. They are sending out a new one but the same mattress. This one I will have them put the bottom on the top. This has been a huge problem. My husband has parkinsons and cannot get into the bed w/o the top of mattress bunching up. Who in the heck ever designed this ? Big mistake. This is so frustrating. Put your sheet on and its all bunched up. What happened to the good ol' days. A flat mattress!!where did it go. Annette Daniels

Hi Annette, If you’d like the whole, long, sordid story on how and why today’s mattresses got to be so bad, you can email me. pete.themattressesexpert [at] gmail [dot] com

What to do about it. You have step number one correct. Especially when it’s new, use the flip side. The memory foam on top is the problem.

For surface comfort, there’s nothing better or longer lasting than latex...been so for the last 100 years. Add a Pure Bliss 3” Natural Talalay Latex Topper to the flip side, and you’ll have better support, a much longer lasting and slow wearing mattress, you’ll also have extraordinary surface comfort that remains like new for years.
