Hello -- This mattress is a Luxury Firm, which is the mattress industry's term for a compromise between a softer feel and a harder feel. In general (and in the Beautyrest line specifically), with a Luxury Firm Pillowtop mattress, you can expect a medium amount of softness. This means it can work for just about any sleep position. As a side sleeper, you probably wouldn't want a bed with less softness than a Luxury Firm.
