Hi, The greatest source of Simmons' complaints are from their "plush" and "plush pillowtop" models. Their plush models use a much thinner gauge wire for the coils, creating a greater depth of softness. While these plush mattresses feel good to try on the showroom floor, the thin gauge wire loses its shape very quickly. Under average body weight, they usually last only a couple of years....less if you're heavier than average. When buying a Beautyrest, it's imperative to stay with one of the firmer models, which use a much heavier gauge wire coil. You can soften the surface to your liking with any number of products...the best of them being latex.
