take out of box first to move upstairs?

We have the mattress delivered compressed in a box and it weighs a ton! Usually it is easier to maneuver a mattress up a stairway if it is out of a box. We were told not to do so with this mattress but it is too heavy to carry upstairs.

One Answer:

Hi there -- Thanks for your question. This is strictly a matter of personal preference. My personal preference would definitely be to move it while it's still in the box, where it is more compact. The mattress will weigh almost the same out of the box as it does in the box, so you aren't saving much weight by removing it from the box. And once it's out of the box, it is harder to grip and maneuver IMO.

I hope that helps.
