Mattress Contents Disclosure Program

BedFax is a program run by an independent non-profit organization that is designed to promote greater transparency in the mattress industry surrounding mattress materials and certifications.  

For any given mattress, a manufacturer can provide BedFax with a full list of the materials used in the mattress as well as any certifications relating to those materials or the mattress as a whole.  BedFax can then independently verify this information before printing it on a handy consumer-friendly disclosure label.  This label is printed in a clear fashion with mattress contents listed by weight.  Materials are shown without jargon or marketing terms so that a mattress shopper can easily answer the simple question of what's in the mattress.

Participation in the program is voluntary and the idea is simply to reward companies who choose to provide such disclosures by allowing them to use the BedFax label on their products and marketing materials.  When given the choice, consumers who place a high value on knowing exactly what materials are in the products that they buy will naturally be drawn to products that provide this additional level of disclosure.

At GoodBed, we fundamentally believe that increased transparency is always a win – both for consumers and for those companies who are doing the 'right things' by selling quality products and standing behind them.  As such, we wholeheartedly support the BedFax initiative.  If you want to support this program as well, be sure to ask your local mattress retailer whether they carry any mattresses that are BedFax verified, and let them know that this is important to you as a shopper.
