BEST if you
- Want a medium-firm mattress (i.e., just a little firmer than average)
- Are mainly a back sleeper (though this mattress can also be good for side sleepers who prioritize firm support over extra pressure relief)
- Often sit or sleep along the edge of your bed (edge support is very good)
- Prefer no 'memory feel' in your mattress
- Want it be very easy to move around and change positions during the night
- Enjoy a happy medium between sleeping 'on' your mattress versus 'in' it
NOT IDEAL if you
- Weigh 225 lb or more, especially if you sleep on your stomach
- Would like a mattress that can be used on an adjustable base
- Can be disturbed by other movements in the bed
- Don't like much bounce in your mattress

In our review of this mattress, we tested it on an adjustable base to look for any adverse effects as the head and foot are elevated, and to see how well it conforms to the contours of the base both with and without the weight of a sleeper. Overall, we found the Saatva Classic Luxury Firm 14.5" to have very poor adjustable base compatibility.

14.5" Thickness
Our standard premier luxury mattress is 14 1/2". We also make a custom slim 11 1/2" model with the same Luxury Firm feel. It's purely an aesthetic decision.
'Coil on Coil' Construction
Our lower coil unit offers a connected hourglass shaped steel support base. Our top coil unit features a luxurious individually wrapped coil system that contours and responds perfectly to your body, eliminating most motion transfer. All Saatva coil units are tempered three times and oven baked.
Dual Perimeter Edge Support System
Foam encased anti-sag edge support for better durability and more sleep surface. The Saatva Mattress uses a Dual Perimeter Edge Support System. The upper comfort coils are foam encased. This is a quality that only the most durable and best mattresses have.
Lumbar Support Enhancement
A high quality memory foam layer provides additional pressure relief while helping reduce stress and tension from the lower back.
Steel Coil Base Support System
