Luxury firm was too firm for me (but I'm very light)

For starters, I am 130 lb., athletic, female, 75% back sleeper, 25% side sleeper, with a history of lower back and neck issues. Nest is a GREAT company. I bought this from their brick and mortar store in Berkeley CA. I was looking for memory foam, good support and a good amount of hug and contour. In the store, the luxury firm felt just right. At home, and even after a few months, it's just too firm for me. I am experiencing a little tingling in the bottom of my foot and also in my shoulder if I sleep on my side. I returned to the store to try out the medium version of the bed, and, regrettably, that felt too soft. I was encouraged to try their Alexander Signature all memory foam bed, but the quilted cover on that one was too thick and I felt like it was detracting from the memory foam feel that I like. I am now looking at the Novosbed Medium or Loom & Leaf Luxury Firm.

Frustrating Nest Bedding Experience

My wife and I really, REALLY wanted to like our mattress from Nest Bedding. It seemed like the ideal mattress for us as we considered our health and our family's. However, the main goal of a good mattress is that it also actually has to be comfortable, and in that department our Nest mattress failed us. We woke up for weeks with sore backs after using this bed! We travel quite a bit, so we both have many reference points with mattresses that surely would be considered "inferior." It is only with our Nest Bedding mattress that we have felt our backs ache, and it is as immediate as the first night we return home. So I requested a refund for the mattress during our "100 night free trial" period, but instead of a refund I got an email from company founder Joe Alexander asking us to give his mattress another try. We then embarked on a frustrating ordeal where Mr. Alexander offered and sent out a "topper," questioned our bedroom setup and denigrated other competitors' options on the market, but still no refund. After trading many emails with Mr. Alexander - and trying what he suggested, we decided that this mattress was still not for us. He refused to refund our money. He only offered a mattress of lesser quality, which we did not want. With so many new online companies offering a no-questions-asked return policy, it's disconcerting to run into one that doesn't honor it. We're now stuck with a $2,400 albatross in our bedroom. The $2400 Lesson: Trust your gut instinct. If a bed doesn't feel right during the trial period, insist on the refund- nothing but the refund. Period. Do not engage with the vendor on any "troubleshooting," as there are too many other choices on the market. It's also too bad that we discovered that Joe Alexander values revenue retention versus true customer service and positive word of mouth. He also demonstrated a bit of a temper. I know others have had good experiences, but honestly, from our experience, I would say this: Don't shop here!!

Disappointed after several months

Had high expectations for this mattress based upon so many positive reviews. I've recently gone back and re-read some of the reviews, and did notice that many were written after just a few weeks of using the bed, which probably is not the best gauge to go by when trying to find out if other people are happy with what they bought. Our first few weeks on the bed were good too. We do have the proper foundation recommended yet this bed began sagging on both our sleeping sides of the bed after just a few months. Have woken many times with a numb arm and hand. Has not provided easing of morning backache as I had hoped for. The edge support is lacking. During the last summer we slept way too warm on this mattress. Now in winter it is not sleeping hot which is a relief. Our mattress is medium, yet it feels too firm overall, even with the continual sagging. Reading over the warranty on Nest's website, I find that the sag has to be an inch or more to get warranty service. Ours sags not quite an inch, but even a little less than an inch is quite a bit of sag, especially for a new mattress. We actually have a permanent hump down the middle of the bed. Have used the bed about 10 months now, and will be switching it out with our guest bedroom mattress and foundation. Our guests can sleep on this uncomfortable mattress until we replace it with something else😀 I was going to buy a mattress topper, but why spend the extra $ just to disguise what is for us an uncomfortable bed?

I love this new mattress, I was nervous about buying it online before trying it out but the videos on them were very helpful and I will be purchasing again if I ever need another mattress :)

Comfortable Mattress, but too hot....

The mattress has been very comfortable feel and support wise. When my wife is stirring on the other side of the bed it is completely calm on my side. I enjoy the beds comfort level a lot, but unfortunately the air circulation is very poor. I wake up overheated at least a couple times a night and compensate by keeping my room very cold at night. Its not a pleasant experience.

Great Mattress

I've had this bed for about a year now, and it's been just great. Climbing into bed at night feels great, the mattress stays pretty cool, and I typically wake up feeling refreshed. I've recommended this mattress to friends and family.

Goldilocks says, "Juuust right!"

I was wanting a very soft mattress. I initially found this one to be a tad too hard. Mr. Alexander hooked me up with a mattress topper and now it's just right! Excellent customer service. We also purchased two king Easy Breather pillows, which are fantastic, and the mattress protector. None of the items had that icky smell that needs to be "off-gassed." So handy to be able to purchase online and not have to go to the used car lot -- I mean -- mattress store. Well done!

Good value luxury foam on the soft side

Having slept on this mattress for 4 months now, I have the following observations about the Alexander Signature Medium: 1. The overall feel of this mattress is a good balance of squishy memory foam and bouncy latex. 2. The "medium" firmness is actually on the soft side. If you are a true stomach sleeper, you might need to go with the "firm". 3. I had the advantage of stopping by their showroom when in San Francisco, and the customer service was good. Ordering online was easy. Mattress arrived 9 days after clicking "buy." 4. There was no "gassing" smell at all. 5. There is no reason to spend 2-3 times as much on a Tempurpedic.

Good bed if you weigh 95 lbs

I'm 6'2" and weigh about 190 and after about a month and a half, my body created a rather annoying indentation on my side of the bed. I've tried to rotate the bed but there is no escaping this phenomenon. The inner portion of this gouge is not as comfortable as the unaffected parts so at times I attempt to sleep in the middle of the bed only to unavoidably roll back to the center of this uncomfortable zone. The reviews of this thing were great and I suppose I would give it a thumbs up too if I was reviewing it right out of the box , but this thing does not stand the test of time.

Great Customer Service!

We ordered the Hard luxury King mattress, which proved to be too hard for us. Joe Alexander asked detailed questions, and also requested that we wait out the trial period. When we realized we'd never like the hardness of the mattress (arm was falling asleep), we worked on adding a mattress cover with lots of cushion. It did the trick and gave us the extra bit of softness we needed. If you aren't sure about the hard mattress, I'd highly recommend you try a medium first! You will likely avoid the same issues we had!
