Kingsdown Failed

I would like to submit a review of Kingsdown's customer service and warranty promise. I would never buy another product from them. Long story short: Their product failed (Hudson firm mattress, $1600) sagging after 3 years. They would not honour their warranty because the mattress was bought at Sears..(because Sears is out of business they can't confirm the purchase... ?????). Not only is their product inferior..... they demonstrated terrible business practice.

Hang on for life!

You have to hang your foot off the edge to keep from falling into a hole. Photos show serious sagging. Their method of measuring the sagging is so ineffective. A string with a paper measure board. Doesn’t work, won’t show the sagging that a simple photograph shows.

Wore out, total JUNK, pick a different mattress

This mattress is "hard" in the middle from day one. The side of the mattress is so weak (after 6 months) that I can't even sit on the side of the bed without slipping off.

High expectations which quickly dissolved to disappointment

I previously owned a Tempurpedic which my husband and I loved. I purchased the Kingsdown mattress at Leons. The salesman assured me it was the best they sold apart from the Tempurpedics. Being in my mid 60’s and suffering from severe arthritis and herniated discs, I really wanted a bed that would provide lasting comfort and support and I was willing to pay the price for it. It felt very comfortable when we tried it in the store and for the first 10 or 11 months. I was assured that there were reinforced edges that would not collapse along with the rest of the sales pitch. In under a yr we noticed that the sides had begun to collapse, first mine and then his. We rotated the mattress routinely as we were advised. Unless you’re sleeping in the middle of the bed, you feel like it’s a uphill climb to turn/move towards the middle. I called Leons and they said they could do nothing about it. The attitude was that they couldn’t care less. I can’t believe that I paid so much money for such an inferior product. 🙁

Fine sleeping on side but nightmare sleeping on back

Following surgery, I've been forced to sleep on my back and this mattress is awful for doing so. Also, since I bought it three years ago, I've noticed that it's starting to sag so everything rolls into the middle. I think I've been ripped off considering I spent upwards of $2,000 for it.

Feels like a sauna

Overheating is a problem and doesn't support the body at all. Never been to the chiropractors so much!

Worst bed ever.

Previously, we had a Beautyrest bed which was great for about 14 years, until it started to sag. We bought the Kingsdown bed as we were sold on its separate support for the body section than the head and feet area and that it would not be hot to sleep on. We are both not big people, 5' 2" and about 60 Kg / ea. I haven't had a good night sleep in two years, unless it has been in a hotel (and not on a Kingsdown bed). Always pain: in shoulder, neck, back, and hips. Lots of tossing and turning. Kicking covers off too as we are hot. Can't get comfortable. Worst bed ever. We cannot stand it anymore and are now looking for a new bed. What a waste of $1800 CDN.

Rip off

This mattress is not worth the money! We are 7 years in and It started to sag after a few years. We called the company, they told us we have to pay for an inspector to come out, gave us the runaround. Horrible customer service. Please please stay away from it. The “10 year warranty” is fake, they give you the run around and at the end you’re unable to get a replacement. I weigh (50kg) much less than my husband (70kg) and every night I feel as if I’m sucked into a vortex, climbing out of a pit in the middle of the bed. I wish I would have listened to the reviewers who listed this problem prior to purchase. I feel angry that we spend so much money on this junk.
