We purchased a Stearns & Foster King Plush Firm Pillowtop mattress and box springs. We tried out this bed in the store and it seemed like a very firm bed. The salesman had me to back up to the mattress and jump up on the mattress to show that it wouldn't move but stayed firm. The mattress that was delivered to our home is not the same mattress that we purchased. When you sit down on the side of the mattress it sinks down really bad--no support and when I tried jumping up on the bed to sit the way he had me do at the store--it bounces up and down. We purchased this mattress late on a Saturday evening and called back Sunday morning to cancel because we had some doubts about the sale (now I know why we had that feeling). We were told that we signed a contract when we paid for the mattress and that we could not cancel even though he still had our check in the store. It had not even been 24 hours. We said we would call the bank and put a stop payment on the check and were told that we would be in more trouble if we did this because of the contract. Now I wish we had cancelled it anyway because we now have a mattress not any better than the one we previously had due to the fact that they sent us a cheaper made mattress than what we looked at in the store and purchased. My next call will be to Don Dare of Knoxville to report the actions on the part of the salesman at Wholesale Furniture of Roane County. Buyers beware. My experience has been a terrible mistake, especially dealing with the salesman who has mislead us in which mattress we were buying. He took our money for a more expensive mattress only to deliver a fake. It looks the same on the outside but the inside making of the mattress is not the same. I will do everything in my power with the help of others to see that this is investigated.
