I've bought a mattress a few times, and most of the experiences are the same - upsell upsell upsell. No different here. But was able to get the price on a mattress I wanted, walked across the street to the closest mattress store, find the comparable mattress, get a lower quote from them, and then walk back and negotiate them down. Just wished they had saved me the time...
