I bought a futon mattress from Siesta Sleepworks in Acton and when I took it out of the plastic cover it had a very strong and unpleasant smell. I waited a few weeks for the smell to wear of, keeping the room well ventilated, but the smell was just as strong as the first day. I took it back to the store, explaining that the smell was unacceptable as the futon was in my newborn baby's room, and the owner Steve started yelling at me and said that he couldn't take the mattress back for an exchange or a refund, that I was too fussy, that he didn't care about my baby and he didn't want to do business with me. I was appalled by his rudeness. I had to throw away the mattress as it was unusable, and buy a new one - of course from another store. If you want to spare the trouble and humiliation I went through, avoid Siesta Sleepworks and any mattress made by Gold Bond Mattress company.
