We wanted to buy a box spring for our grandson who is a small five year old and looked at buying an inexpensive one online until we read through and realized we would have to assemble it. So we hit the four or five mattress stores in our area looking for a bargain. It wasn’t until we got to Original Mattress Factory that we were educated on the difference between a Foundation and Box Spring. A foundation is basically a wood frame and some wire (no give). A box spring has the wood but also springs that collapse to support your weight. Really! A foundation is like laying the mattress on the floor. The box spring still has support but has some give. Original Mattress was the only place who wanted to make sure we were getting what we asked for. All the others would sell us a foundation thinking it was a box spring. We returned the next day and brought the box spring. In stock, easy check out and he helped us load it into out SUV. Our third purchase. We’ll be back if we need more.
