I went to @mattressworldnorthwest on south Commercial to buy a mattress. I made it super clear to the sales lady that I needed a soft mattress and that "soft" was my top priority. I splurged and bought a $2400 @serta that was very soft. When the mattress was delivered, I immediately could tell it was nothing like the one in the store. It felt like a completely different mattress and was *super* firm. I thought they delivered the wrong thing but the tag seemed to say it was right. I decided to try it out and see if I could stand it. I only lasted 5.5 hrs in it before I woke up in bad pain in my lower back and my knee (an old knee injury the mattress apparently made flare up). I had to sit around with a heating pad the next day.
I contacted @mattressworldnorthwest, who, may I add, has a no return policy. I told them 1) the mattress is completely different than the mattress I laid on in the store. 2) I made it clear to the sales lady that my #1 concern was a soft mattress and she never informed me that what I'd get would be any different than what I tried in the store. 3) my mattress is not just slightly more firm than the store model, it is so different that I can't even use it. 4) I'd like them to give me a refund because it's not a matter of me changing my mind or not liking what I got, it's that what they lead me to believe I was getting is not what I got. I feel like I was baited and switched, and they are a "able" to do that because they rely on their "no refund" policy. So any info they withhold or misrepresentations they make, they feel they aren't responsible for. The consumer bears all the risk. Who knows if my mattress was mislabeled, or if the manufacturing process changed, or if my mattress is defective in some way. I can't reiterate enough that it does not feel anything close to what I tried in the store. Doesn't matter to them.
They sent my request up the chain and finally told me no, they will not allow a refund. They will also not compromise to let me exchange for a cheaper one & refund part
