In our review of this mattress, we tested it on an adjustable base to look for any adverse effects as the head and foot are elevated, and to see how well it conforms to the contours of the base both with and without the weight of a sleeper. Overall, we found the Saatva Classic Firm 11.5" to have very good adjustable base compatibility.

Firm Comfort Level
For sleepers who prefer their mattress firm but not hard, the Firm comfort level is your choice. We layer individually wrapped coils with firmer and conforming foams to create a mattress that floats your body on the mattress as you sleep. When you lie down, you will feel an initial plushness quickly followed by the firm support you desire. Our core is just the right firmness balance to ensure you don’t sink into the mattress or feel like you are sleeping on a board. Choose the Firm comfort level if:

- You prefer a mattress that you float on top of instead of sink into
- Your health professional recommends a firm mattress
- You prefer a firmer mattress
11.5" Thickness
Our custom slim luxury mattress is 11 1/2". We also make a standard version that is a 14 1/2" model with the same Firm feel. It's purely an aesthetic decision.
'Coil on Coil' Construction
Our lower coil unit offers a connected hourglass shaped steel support base. Our top coil unit features a luxurious individually wrapped coil system that contours and responds perfectly to your body, eliminating most motion transfer. All Saatva coil units are tempered three times and oven baked.
Dual Perimeter Edge Support System
Foam encased anti-sag edge support for better durability and more sleep surface. The Saatva Mattress uses a Dual Perimeter Edge Support System. The upper comfort coils are foam encased. This is a quality that only the most durable and best mattresses have.
Lumbar Support Enhancement
A high quality memory foam layer provides additional pressure relief while helping reduce stress and tension from the lower back.
Steel Coil Base Support System
All Saatva’s luxury mattresses are built with a tempered steel support lower coil base. This creates a long lasting sustainable mattress with increased durability and is the best design to prevent sagging.
Euro Pillow Top with Organic Cotton Cover
The Euro Pillow Top offers more cushioning materials than most regular pillow tops. These materials are inserted underneath the outer covering for a neater and cleaner look. Regular pillow tops that are sewn to the top of a bed, tend to shift and lose shape.
