Won’t Honor Warranty Even After “Accepting” The Claim
First, they didn’t respond or follow up with our warranty claim submission. After 90 days I called them and they couldn’t find it at first. Then they were rude, wouldn’t give me the direct contact information of the person in charge of warranty review. Even after they said they would accept and honor our claim, they refused to offer any discount off a replacement mattress. They refused any percentage of cash refund. They said we’d have to pay $250 to get a replacement mattress and it had to be the same size (they wouldn’t let us pay the difference for an upgrade). The worst customer service of ANY company I’ve ever dealt with!! Our $900 dollar bed only lasted 3 years with normal use for two 150-180 lb people. The warranty is a sham. Never buy from them!!!
The mattress started out great but after approximately 6 months two wallowed out impressions on either side developed with a huge hump in the middle that I often have to turn sideways to sleep on in order to try to find some relief for my back and hips. One of the selling points that convinced us to buy this mattress was the 15 year warranty. We've called the distributor out more than once to file a warranty claim. They come out with a big stick to lay across the bed and say that Southerland will not honor the warranty unless the bed is sagging more than one inch without any weight on it. I guarantee that I will NEVER purchase another product from this company. 15 year warranty my ass! This product absolutely sucks! I did not have back problems until purchasing this torture device. Extremely unhappy with this product and the company that sells it.
This has been a wonderful mattress. It exceeded all expectations for comfort and durability. I have been very pleased and will buy from Southerland again.

I expected nothing because I was moving & had no time to research & shop. So. The salesman was friend of friends & they asked him to make a selection I could afford (in 1988 I paid $700) - so he came out in person & explained why he brought a king size Southerland mattress & frame. He helped us load it. Imagine my surprise here in 2017 saying I’m only now thinking of a making a replacement? I’m hoping for another good buy from a nearby Southerland factory. Is it even possible? If not I’ll purchase a topper & continue using. Spending many thousands of dollars is surrendering to marketing madness & not my style.

My husband is a hot sleeper and this bed just works for us. We both sleep like babies on it. Great for side sleepers. We are very pleased with our purchase. When this finally wears out, we will buy another!

After 1 1/2 months a basketball size sink occurred in the mattress about 1 1/2-2" and had to have the retailer come and pick it up and pay off for us. He would not admit it was a faulty mattress which it was and therefore I will never buy from this retailer or this mattress type again!!
I purchased our mattress at the East Wilkes High School Athletic Fundraiser. The mattress that we'd been sleeping on felt like sleeping on a board compared to the sleep we get with this mattress. It was more expensive than I had anticipated but school staff/employees/students received a discount. I'm extremely satisfied, thus far, and I intend on getting another one when this one needs replacing! This mattress is much taller than my old one. I have to use a step stool just to climb into bed!

Was undecided about the purchase of two mattress one pillow top the other not....I'm glad that I chose the pillow top.Better nights of sleep plus it's hard to get out of my bed.Best purchase that I've made when purchasing a mattress!!!
