OCS Blended
The OCS Blended Standard (OCS Blended) applies to all textile goods that contain a minimum of 5% organic material and can be used for blends that contain any fiber, including conventional cotton. OCS Blended is part of the Organic Content Standard (OCS) which replaced the Organic Exchange (OE) Standards in 2014.
OCS testing is done on individual textile components, not on finished products. In practice, the OCS Blended logo means that a specific mattress model contains at least some fiber or fabric that has been certified according to the OCS Blended Standard. OCS certification does NOT account for environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing, nor does it test for the presence of harmful substances or emissions.
The OCS Blended Standard was formerly known as OE Blended. It was created by the Textile Exchange (formerly known as the Organic Exchange), a non-profit organization formed in 2002 to promote the responsible expansion of textile sustainability across the global textile value chain.
