Worth any price - they don't make 'em like this anymore?!
My 1st bed for 1st apartment. Liked quality at Sears so bought bed there. Hoped for comfort that would last "awhile". They say a bed lasts 10 yrs., - I've had mine 43! I rotate, flip & vac it 2x a yr. At the 25 year mark, began to have a little sag - put a board under rt. side. At the 30 year mark, felt some spring pressure. Bought a thick mattress pad & a foam pad. At 35 yrs. felt springs much more but overall still an ex. bed. Afraid to get rid of it. Heard many bad stories from others about new beds bought. Tried beds in stores - can't find anything even close (only a King Koil king on vacation, but K.Koils near me are not the same). Mine is 6" high & my sheets just about fit. Many beds now are much thicker, maybe to cover poor support structure? I, & many others, would give almost anything to find this bed again!!
Like sleeping in a hole that only fits your torso.
Your body, no matter your weight, makes a huge dent from your torso which leaves your legs running uphill with pressure on your knees if you lay on your side. If you spin the mattress the hole you've made does not disperse and your legs then bend down at the knees into the hole your torso left and you just make a new hole on the other end. There is also a large 1-2 foot wide ridge up the middle where no one lays which is easily seen and, less important, actually looks ridiculous with the bed made.
The bed has developed sagging and body impression and is quite uncomfortable to sleep on. Purchased from Sears Canada on 2011 with ten year warranty and now Sears is closed. Not sure where to get assistance.
Haven't had it 3 years yet, paid over $2000 & it already sags in the middle worse that the cheap mattress I threw out when i bought this one. I sure wish I could get that old thing back!
Was told at store by a kid that was guessing that I have had the mattress past the warranty period. Alot of money for a 2 year warranty. Then things should be backed for 5 years at least for that kind of money!
I used to work at Sears , selling among other things mattresses. I know exactly what warranty requirements were available and provided to Sears associates and customers. Mattress warranty information consists solely of a specified a period of time and extent of defect required for a warranty claim. PERIOD.
I purchased a very nice Sears-O-Pedic mattress while employed at Sears. Guess what! Within the warranty period it sagged enough it became uncomfortable, The sag was well below the warranty specifications so I filed a claim, with all the required photos. They simply dismissed my claim because I had removed most of the "law tag", but a photo clearly showed the remnant of the law tag attached to the mattress. This is the large tag positioned at the top, head of the mattress. The one that says in large print:
"UNDER PENALTY OF LAW
THIS TAG NOT TO BE REMOVED
EXCEPT BY THE CONSUMER" .

Neither sales associates nor customers are aware of this "warranty" while shopping, purchasing, or selling a mattress. The only reason Sears has this secret "warranty" statement is to void consumer claims filed after failure of the mattress for the reasons they believed to be warrantied. An honest company would clearly state actual warranty requirements. This is far worse then relying on fine print contained in a contract, because the law tag requirement is never shown. Except to escape honoring a claim.
I paid 900 for a bed my boyfriend and cannot stand. almost two years later, and I don't know why we haven't taken it out back and burned it yet. The in store model seemed to offer much more support.
Hung up on, over 12 hours on the phone and no end it sight. Sears was a company I went to and trusted because I believed they had superior customer service, but I can see that I was wrong, as there is no end in sight for this problem.
