Ups and Downs with Marshall Mattress

Within two years, this mattress had a distinct 'mountain range' running down the middle of the bed. When you lie sleep, there is a distinct impression that the bed is trying to roll you off of the edge. Hard work if you try to go uphill into the middle of the bed. 'Technician' came out yesterday to inspect it for warranty coverage. Did some weird measurements with a brightly colored string, as this was the 'industry standard' for determining mattress problems! It was literally like a Monty Python skit. Didn't use his 4 foot level at all. When I examine the mattress using my 7 foot level, it is obvious that the edges are 2 inches lower than the center of the bed. I doubt that the technicians 'magic string' showed this. Will be very surprised if Marshall cover this under warranty. Am looking for another mattress, but will definitely NOT buy a Marshall.

Marshall's Backache Special

We purchased the Serene Rest Assured IV from the Bay 3 years ago. We thought we were buying the best mattress according to the sales person. Price was not an issue, we wanted quality! We spend 1/3 of the year at our winter home so the mattress in theory is 2 years old. We contacted the Bay customer service and an inspection was scheduled. Results the same as all other mattress reviews with problems. Depressions are less than 1 1/2". The 10 year mattress warranty is a joke. My wife and I wake up with a back ache every day. The mattress cannot support our weight and my wife is tiny. You can feel your body sinking when you lay down. I have exhausted every avenue possible with The Bay. Believe me they tried to help us. They went as far as talking to the owners of Marshall. Marshall's response is that the mattress meets specifications. The best thing that could happen is that The Bay drops the Marshall product line. Slept on a Beautyrest mattress in a hotel over the weekend. My back and body was loving the mattress. Another problem was that The Bay sold us a mattress that we did not have to flip. Turns out this mattress must be flipped and rotated. The inspector reported depressions on both sides of the mattress and it was never flipped. Very suspicious conclusion.

Worst mattress I have ever had

I wanted to buy Canadian made. I spent a great deal of time in the showroom picking this mattress. I purchased the Marshall mattress, top of the line, and box spring and fully supported frame. Four years in the mattress is sagging in the middle. The sag is visible and uncomfortable as I ‘sag’ into it. I am clutching the sides of the bed. But apparently the industry standard is 1-1/2 inches and my sag is only 1 inch. So, i will be calling for an assessment every six months as you can bet this sag will get worse. I would never recommend this mattress and would give anything to get my Sealy posteurpedic back.

Hills & Valleys best describes this mattress after just 1yr

I haven't had a good nights sleep for 1 1/2 years. Dips have formed valleys on both sides of the mattress. Yes, we flip it regularly. Warranty is a sham because the dips aren't deep enough to meet criteria. Of course not, the dips are measured by a small ruler placed on the dip!!?? WTF. Surely, to get an accurate measurement, shouldn't it be taken as soon as someone gets off the bed??? Our backs ache, sleep quality is crap. HATE this mattress and don't have a good thing to say about Marshall Mattress. Never had this problem with any of the many purchases we made from Sleep Country.

Very poor warranty and customer service,read the fine print

I complained about the depression on the mattress. The company referred me to the Bay where I bought it from. Customer service never sent anyone to measure the depression and Marshall Mattress basically absolved themselves of any warranty claim. I expected more from the Bay and Marshall but I am not surprised. At this rate they won't be in business much longer.

Feeling Rested

I had a memory foam mattress $$$$ then switched to latex $$$$$ but I was still not comfortable till I switched to this Marshall's mattress $$$$. It's been only a month but I tried others and had to return them as my back was killing me within the same time frame. This mattress provides great overall support to my whole body and yet relieves pressure. My hubby who likes a firmer mattress is very surprised at how well he is supported and feels much more rested sleeping on this mattress. The 2-sided flip will extend the mattress life and wear. I look forward to going to bed. All the other beds I've had I barely made it through the night and woke up with pain in my hip, lower back and shoulder/s. I'm 135lbs 5'0ft my hubby is 215lbs 5'11ft.

Sleeping like a king!

The Marshall brand Serene 4 series has opened a new realm of sleep comfort for me and my wife. This mattress has a medium firm support with a euro pillow top for additional comfort. My wife sleeps on her side and I sleep on my stomach - this mattress works wonderfully for both of our sleeping styles. No pain in the morning and sleep through the night like a baby. Previous to this we has a Kindgsdown top of the line medium firm pillow top. It lasted 10 years before it caved in the middle and became unusable. The Kindgsdown was a great mattress giving excellent support for years. That said, I did not realize that Marshall could be that much better. The Marshall is clearly a superior mattress - Wait for a sale and by one! I don't think you will ever regret this mattress. The more things change the more they stay the same.... There are so many mattress choices these days but the pocket coil is clearly a winner - in my honest opinion Marshall makes the best pocket coil mattress hands-down! Added bonus is they are "flipable" for longer life and years of consistent comfort. I would highly recommend the Marshall Serene 4 to anyone looking for nice med-firm comfort.

the best of The best

I would strongly recommend this line of bed A+I have had beds that are $5000 dollars as this one is before great price at The Bay..Do your self a favor and check it out It is a flippable Pillow top..It will be the best night sleep money can buy NOTHING is more important to me than a great nights sleep
