We went and looked/laid on this bed at our local IKEA and then visited a few mattress retailers, then returned to Ikea and purchased it immediately. It was much below our budget but hands-down the best ever! I've owned quite a few name brand mattresses and have never slept better. As a matter of fact, I'm writing this because it's Sunday and my entire family and I were just discussing our love for this bed after relaxing in it all afternoon.
It is supposed to be a firm matress and is totally the opposite. The springs dig into my back causing health problems. It feels like a fake matress, used just for decoration or something. For your comfort and health never buy this crap.
First I bought the bed around 3 months ago (i wouldn't write a review before it really got some use) they seem comfortable in the store (why i bought it) but after just 3 months of use, both the pillow top and springs have compressed and have impressions...... you are better off to buy a more expensive mattress and save having to buy a new line every year.......like everything else Ikea it looks nice but in reality it's cheap particle board....
I have gone through five beds in two years. The IKEA Halen is a God send for people who like a firm mattress but also need good circulation below the waist. LOL get your mind out of the gutter. What I meant is most firm mattresses will actually numb my butt when I get up in the morning. Like sitting in a chair too long. This is terrible for men especially if you have prostate issues. This bed seems to give enough support to resolve my lower back pain issues and allows enough circulation so that I'm very very comfortable all night. The bed may not last very long but after five expensive tries this one finally makes it comfortable enough for me to sleep. Special note: I have been sleeping in my guest room on a 15-year-old IKEA mattress that with a 1 inch memory foam topper has been a life saver because it actually was comfortable enough to sleep on. I do not know what is going on with Sealy or other standard manufacturers. I could not find a bed for under $1000 that was adequate like this IKEA Halen bed. And it was only 300. Suffice to say that perhaps IKEA has some integrity when it comes to construction of their beds. I believe that much of the mattress industry is criminal and deceptive. IKEA does not appear to be so. My only problem with this bed was purchasing it at the terrible store on Fenton Parkway in San Diego. The sales people were overworked and understaffed. It took three hours to get out of that damn store. The only way you can buy an IKEA bed online is if you have them deliver it $100 cha ching... You can not order on the phone or online and pick it up at the store. It's either pay for delivery or go to the store and purchase it there. Best to go in the morning midweek when they are not busy. Words to the wise.
Impressed at the quality and comfort of this Sultan Havberg
I have to admit that for the price $139 I was a little leary of the quality of the Sultan Havberg spring mattress. But Oh my Lord, This bed is fantastic!!! I have slept through the nights with no tossing and turning. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! This was a HUGE bargain and big bang for my buck!! I would highly recommend this mattress to anyone who likes firm and comfortable. You will not find a better bargain.
I am a college student who can barely afford food, bought this mattress for 90 dollars at ikea, at first i thought it was good but after a week I started having sever aches on my back elbows and neck. I cant afford another mattress so whenever there is no one at home I sleep on my roommate's bed "he will kill me if he finds out" or in the living room.
