After 12 years of daily use, I decided it was time to replace my Sultan Flokenes mattress. Even though I had always been very satisfied with it, I felt it had lost some of its support over time. It was my first foam mattress, and I had no complaints all those years. So, I thought it was time to upgrade — and I invested in an expensive new mattress with pocket springs, costing €2,300.
From the very first nights, though, I started experiencing back pain. I assumed my body just needed time to adjust, so I added a €400 mattress topper, hoping it would make things more comfortable. Unfortunately, even with the topper, the mattress still felt uncomfortable and awkward.
Thankfully, I hadn’t thrown away the Sultan Flokenes — I had given it to a family in need. After struggling to find anything on the market that felt similar — aside from maybe a Tempur — I finally asked the couple if they would be willing to return the Sultan, and I offered them the brand-new, expensive mattress instead. Luckily, they were happy to accept the trade!
In the end, I returned to my old Sultan Flokenes, and my body immediately felt relief. I’ve come to the conclusion that unless I can find something that truly matches its comfort and support, I’m not changing mattresses again anytime soon.

I decided to give my sultan flokenes amd buy a brand new. I bought a luxury, expensive pocket spring one
After that i lived a hell! Back pain, discomfort etc. Sultan flokenes was the only matress which i could wake up without backpain. Pity is not available any more by IKEA.

Since sleeping on this mattress I’ve developed consistent shoulder, hip, and back pain. The only time I’ve had a good night’s sleep is when we’re in a hotel or a different bed which is how I’ve come to realize this bed is a problem.

My 18 year old started with this mattress, she loved it. Since living on her own she has had two other Ikea mattresses and still prefers the 10 year old one at home. Mattress, still in good condition. Comfort wise will last a few more years. We do rotate the mattress every few months since the day we purchased.
When she moved out I moved in her room and preferred the comfort over a $3000 mattress I have.

I bought this mattress years ago as my first mattress purchase as an adult. I didn't know how to do research and pick a mattress. I simply went to Ikea because I love that store and Iĥ needed something in my budget. I laid on a few mattresses and picked the one that seemed most comfortable. But how one decides a purchase from a few quick lays is beyond me. But that's what I did because I knew nothing then. And thankfully it was literally the most comfortable bed to me, right from the first sleep. I never noticed that I was uncomfortable going to sleep. Or achy upon waking up. It wasn't until the mattress started to give out (after about 8 years!) and I went on the search for a new one that I realized how lucky I was to have made this purchase. I'm a side sleeper and didn't know a thing about firmness then. Luckily I picked the perfect firmness for my needs when I bought this mattress. I never had tingly issues and when I bought a mattress pad recently, and tried a friend's bed and immediately felt pain and discomfort, I was thankful again for having had such an amazing mattress. Unfortunately its support has diminished now after all these years. But for the price and the longevity and the years of blissful sleep, I couldn't have been more pleased with this product. I'm nervous other mattresses won't live up to its greatness.

It is one of my favourite things that I own. I loathe getting up and look forward to going back to sleep on this mattress. I can easily sleep 12 consecutive hours on it because it's so comfortable. I'm super disappointed that it's discontinued as I needed a second mattress and the one I got is not living up to my expectations.

I've owned two of these mattresses and unfortunately, Ikea discontinued them infavor of other lesser quality styles. It's a great mattress for many reasons and I wish it'd be brought back. Not only is it incredibly afforable, it's also insanely comfortable. And the outer shell can be zipped on and off for easy cleaning, which is the main reason I need a new one. I've washed the shell so many times that the shell's fabric density is simply starting to break down. The latex is still as good.
